  • Not the best price from recent history

This model was getting sold from ~$2895 around Black Friday time.

If LG follows the model release routine I believe there will be 2022 model around March-April

Rather buy from VP than HN

Not the best buy right now if you missed Black Friday. Wait till around mid to late Feb when they're desperate to clear out all 2021 stock to make room for 2022 models and I predict this will be back to $2800-2900. Only really a few weeks away from when TV's are historically slashed in price again

  • The 55inch is also $2350 at JB HiFi… not close to the 2k from Black Friday but my TV just died so picked one up with some discount JB HiFi gift cards, arrives today!

how do you get JB Discount cards ?

    • What was the tv that died? I just bought the c1 55 inch for about $1947 and I want it to last 20 years (well, at least 10).

The oled won't be as bright in 20 years. Hope mine makes it to 10 years too.

      • The display went on a 2013 Sony Bravia… can't remember the model type but was a mid-range one at the time. Honestly was kinda stoked it died so I could upgrade ;)

        • Ah, the Bravs eh? I'm rocking one from about that era too. Looking forward to a substantial upgrade in quality. Just regretting not getting the 65 inch C1 at @2888 from Harvey's on Boxing Day (said it was too much and we don't need it over and over again on the day of course)

        • I'm still on my Bravia 46" from Nov/Dec 2010.. one of those Edge lit when it was the tech back then.

@1cent2much: I borrowed an old Bravia fromt the parents in law probably same size and era… was actually pretty surprised at how well it held up.

      • and I want it to last 20 years (well, at least 10).

People said the same when they bought their FHD TV

        • Well, my fullHD Panasonic plasma was bought in 2009 and still works perfectly and has a great image only surpassed by oled (have an old laptop and it isn't much of a difference tbh). Been our only TV all that time, moved house 4 times, lives in a hot sunny room. No screen burn in. Can really imagine another 7 years out of it (though I am tempted by an oled, but mainly cause the frame on ours now looks a bit dated/ thick)

  • I am waiting for this year the C2 model

    • +2

      I'll only buy C4

    • Your wait till boxing day for the c2?

  • I bought on Boxing Day and just got contacted for delivery. Looks like they r back in stock hence the sale?

Btw I bought this to replace a 11yo Samsung 3D plasma TV that is still going strong with minor screen defect (white color has some horizontal distortion). Sad that I have to chuck out all the 3D glasses and content!

    • Ha ha, my 11yo Samsung 3D plasma is still going strong, but our second TV is looking to be on the way out so the Samsung will replace it and an LG Oled will replace it. Still a fantastic TV and need OLED to compete with picture quality. I barely used the 3D, did try it out initially.

Was complaining that there is nothing wrong with the TV's to replace them but I feel the backlight on the second is going to fail this year so have justified it to myself.

Purchased a 65" c1 from Good Guys last weekend for $3k delivered (SA - so eastern states should easily be able to get this). Just ask for a deal, and avoid paying Uncle Jerry an extra $195.

    • Can you let me know which store in SA?

      • Gepps Cross.

  • If anyone picks one up I would love to know what price you got and where. Spoke to JB this morning and he swore he could only take about $20 off the current $3195.

    • I went to HN Broadway/Glebe (Sydney) and he did $3000 flat + Free delivery + Free removal of my old busted unit.

  • Boxing day was cheaper @ $2700

  • Would hope the price comes down more in a month or two.

  • Was just offered it for $3065 at Good Guys - but stock not in until mid Feb. Think I should go for it or hold off for a further price drop as the new model release comes?

  • Is the Sony A80J worth the $300 more or should I go with the C1. Decisions, decisions. Or maybe just wait a few more months and see what the new models bring along.

  • I rang TGG last week and they went to $3k delivered with very little effort. Love my new C1 😄

  • I was at JB yesterday and the guy said he could do the C1 for literally $3002 delivered. I was just having a look and we started talking.
