It's solid, stable and well built. I paid ~$60 for mine delivered from Amazon UK about a year ago. Would buy again for double the price.

I grabbed the same deal, never arrived :(

      Amazon refunded it tho…

An easy DIY for around $10-$15 in material… simple low skill level too.

    1m of timber 150mm x 150mm
Small piece of MDF for base, smaller piece on top
Visit a carpet place for off cuts
Staple said carpet to post, screw in both MDF plates and you are done.

Sisal rope works amazingly too. I've refurbished our existing scratching pole and it's way sturdier

      • Glue gun and sisal rope /thread

Where do you get sisal rope for cheap?

I found the length needed costs as much or more than a whole new scratcher.

        • Got it from Bunnings. Dunno if cheaper is available.

My cat loved the box this came into

    • Ha ha, my cat doesn't touch any of his toys. Only interested in a piece of string. Why bother hey

This would cost more than the purchase price of all of my 3 cats combined.

What how? Did you buy your cats from Aliexpress?

      • Dropship cats are the new thing.

Adult rescues. My local rescue centre charges $50 for adults and we got one free as no one purchased her in 6 months. She is ugly but the best cat ever, very social, loves to curl up in your lap and gives us no trouble with the other 2 cats.

That is awesome. We have always gone to the RSPCA etc for our pets. My mum gets the older cats 10 years or older as they are less likely to be saved.

  • Our cat likes to use this as a launching post to get to higher ground. One of them managed to knock it over, even though it is very heavy. I screwed a piece of carpet to the top to give the cats a bit of purchase when they leap up there. My cats prefer carpet to scratch rather than sisal but they do us it as a scratching post occasionally. These are good quality and well made.

  • We bought a cheaper version of this for about $50 about 5 months ago. The base is average and one of the screws did not align so it only has 2 of the 3 screws holding it together. Still does the job and it hasn't fallen over…yet. The cat loves it and the the post is well made.

  • This is a really good scratching post. Can probably get it cheaper if you wait a bit though I got mine for about $90

  • I paid $90 delivered from Amazon USA last March 2021. Nice and solid, cat loves it.

  • Only thing my cat now uses

  • I purchase one last year. An excellent scratching post - it has survived the attention of my rather large Ragdoll, without tipping over, and is still looking good. And yes, the box is an excellent cat cave as well!

      Ragdolls are adorable cats.
