  • This or Seiko Premier Chronograph SNAF73P? https://starbuy.com.au/seiko-premier-chronograph-snaf73p/

I personally stay away from battery powered watches

      • +1

Since getting 2 eco drives. Its been a no go for battery powered watches for me also.

        • Every eco drive has a battery in it

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: Yes but last i read its like 10 years between needing to change it.

Can't say the same for watches solely powered by a battery.

@xoom: my ecodrive has been going for 20 years …..no battery change ….. not sure how long it holds a charge if I put it in a draw e.h 6 mths, 3 mths ? , but it works fine after 20 years

              • @garage sale: And this is exactly why i am no longer interested in a watch thats solely battery powered. Solar power all the way.

            • @xoom: 'Yes but last i read its like 10 years between needing to change it.' 22 years for my eco drive and no issues.

      • Bulova's Precisionist movement is an absolute peach, and is solely battery powered (and quite hard on the batteries too).

I'd own another, and I already own a few.

    • Solar for sure. Ever since I've had Eco Drive (Citizen's version of Solar powered watches), I can't go back to normal quartz watches.

  • Thought it was a Submariner at first glance

    • -4

Would avoid just because of this. People will think you're wearing a Submariner then you tell them it's a Seiko..

      • +3

the horror of wearing a Seiko, no way I'd risk it

        listen to yourself

Not dissing Seiko as they make great quality watches, I own an Orient that I love. But just prefer they stick to their own design and not be an Invicta.

      • @childchance Hey it will make for a great conversation starter. Even if it's not the pinnacle of horology, it's still great value for money. Plus you won't have to get on a 10 year waitlist to get one.

  • interesting find OP, never saw a submariner look + solar watch before.

  • Sapphire crystal also. Wouldn't buy a watch without it anymore.

  • This was yesterday's one Day deal. It refreshes at 10 am daily

    • +1

That maybe yesterdays 1 day deal but it still says $399 in the site. Just checked now.

  • Damn if this was an automatic watch I would have jumped on it.

    • It's still a great GADA watch! Plus you won't have to worry about babying this as much as an automatic watch.

  • wish it was the green seiko solar ……. https://starbuy.com.au/seiko-prospex-mens-watch-sne583p/
was as low as $450 but $399 would be nicer.

    • That is a lovely watch. The Seiko Solar Hulk.

  • Where is Star Buy's Weekend Sale? I look forward to it every Friday afternoon so I can dream about the watches I might get as I while down the hours until clock off time.
