  • thats a good deal for Mitsubishi Electric

  • Need a aircon for 23 sq bedroom any deals and id need aircon i guess 3kw or 3.5kw cooling etc .

      It depends.
If the room is well insulated, and windows shaded from direct sun, in a temperate climate, 2.5kW is more than enough.
You can't just go by floor area.

If your house is old and badly built, with west-facing windows, in Darwin, you'll want 20kW :)

    • Thanks ,its a hot box but has insulation in roof ,brick, window shade in and outside and get the sun 9 hrs a day .has a old 2.5kw on its last days so need to replaced asap.

      • heya Spock! Whats your ceiling height?

        • 2.4 meter ceiling.

          • @spock: I'd recommend a 3.5kw for sure.
            We have a 3.5kt mitsi @ $1099 ($200 cash back)
            Or a Haier 3.5kw @ $799 ($100 cash back)
            Or a Kelvinator 3.5kw at $845 ($100 cash back).

You can find these products and prices on our website! Let me know if you need more help or want us to beat a price!

            • @SaveOnAppliances: Thanks and ill look at these options and thanks for your good responses .

This might help, my room is 6x4 with 2.8 ceilings and has a projector which is like a little heater, I got a 2.5kw in there it works very well. Although I keep it at 24 degrees, quiet mode hits that temp easily.

  • Is the rebate only valid if you purchase from the participating retailers?

Is this the same product but cheaper at bunnings?

Technically different… Mitsubishi and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries are different businesses.

    • +2

I believe the heavy industries version is better as it's designed for commercial applications.

May have less features like wifi and stuff, but supposed to be more durable

      • Where does it say that anywhere? …..or is it just arse speak or 'the vibe'?

I've had this model (MSZ-AP 2.5, 3.5 and 7.1) installed in 6 rooms for nearly 2 years and they've been faultless so far.

ive been told this also when we were shopping for a unit a year ago, was advised always choose MHI if you have the option

          • @perfectlydark: I've been told ME is better and MHI is better by various different people.

The installer I used, who has sold, installed and serviced both for several years told me the difference in general performance between ME and MHI is slight, however both are ahead of other brands like Panasonic, Daikin, Fujitsu etc

He told me that's he's had less repair callouts for ME and claimed ME are slightly quieter.
So I went with ME, as I tend to believe someone who's had real experience with both, not just hearsay.

            • +1

@Price Jack: seems to be a polarizing one! i will note ive been told this by several people (often sales people admittedly) in different product categories too, such as fridges, got told the same thing multiple stores

              • +1

@perfectlydark: Tbh, I don't think you can go wrong with either ME or MHI.
I think in reality, between the 2, it should probably only come down to price at the time, aesthetic preference and serviceability (inc. warranty by the installer).

My aircon installer recommended the heavy industries version over the mitsu electric one.

          I googled it too.

      • +1

Just putting it out there, but my industry experience tells me different. Not saying MHI is bad, it's just not definitively better than ME.

        • You've gone off on a tangent.

The one for sale by the OP is a Mitsubishi electric model.

      • Correct thats all we use at work now Mitsubishi Heavy Industries we've tried many different brands and models. Our units run 24/7 all year in heavy industrial enviroment, huge electrical MCC switch rooms that generate heat big time no matter what the weather is doing outside.

    • No stock at Bunnings checked and called qld .

  • What's a typical install cost for one of these? Brisbane, near Chermside.

    • $600 - $2000, depending on the complexity and quality of the install. When I got some quotes a while ago it was $700-$1000 for a straight forward back-to-back on the ground floor, brick veneer. Good luck finding a reliable, available fridgie though, many don't want to install ACs they haven't supplied.

    • Yep, as below, it's going to depend on what you need. Starts from $650 for a straight forward back to back installation on lower floor.

  • I have the 7.5kw version of this series (MSZ-AP) and 2x 2.5kw of the previous series (MSZ-GL). Our experience has been positive (hence multiple splits). That’s a good price for the unit, even better with the cash back!

I only wish a little product design went into the aesthetic of the head unit and remote.

  • Catch is I'd have to move to the cultural epicentre of Australia.

    • Heeeeeey it's not so bad here :D

  • I literally had 2 of these installed in my home on Tuesday. God damnit.

    • Bugger :(

  • PM me if you need bris install 😉

    • Hi, I need to install 2 x 2.5 KW Mitsubishi Electric on single storey house, brick veneer in Loganlea. Are you able to give me price?

  • Hi,
I need 2x Mitsubishi Electric 2.5kW, do you know if I can claim both?

    • Hey!

According to the t&cs: Max 1 claim per product; 3 claims per person

Looks like you can make up to 3 claims on 3 eligible units :-)

  • Do these work with Alexa

    • They do, but an additional adapter is required for that unfortunately.
