sorry no OLED so not for me. Sadly can't play games on it either as it's not a touch screen.

I had a non LHR one of these. 4 slots. Cooling is not very good for such a big card. And it is a big ass card, will need to buy a support bracket for it, as there pcie connector are cracking on the PCB due to weight and gigabyte are denning them for RMA/Repair, so be careful get a support bracket for it. I ran two, one front (elv8) and one at the back (stand type)
Performed ok, RGB Fusion is a nightmare to void in its self, and gigabyte support is terrible as well. And for anyone wondering, yes they come with the same over oiled thermal pads that gigabyte use. The temps are not much better then there own gaming OC card which can be had for less and is smaller.
I would only recommend this card if you already are running a PC with gigabyte parts and already using RGB Fusion/Aorus engine, and/or its a cosmetic thing.
There are better cards for the money or less. But if your looking at Gigabyte and its between the Gaming OC and this card and price is same/super close I would go for this card, just factor is the cost for brackets.

I sold my card and got the 3090 version of this card, sold it when I sold my old PC ( https://au.pcpartpicker.com/b/8LL2FT ) and got a Asus Tuff 3090 for my new build and its temps where around the same and its a 2.7 slot card.

    • so its 4 slot heatsink that performs the same as 2.7 slot one? with the same cheappie thermad pads and paste?

how hot was it when you tested it?

      • ran between about 65 to 75 while gaming. (in a case with a ton of cooling)
yes same pads and cheapo paste.
If its anything like they did with the Aorus 2080ti xtreme (had three do it too me personally and a 5 people bring me ones for repair) where after a year or two the paste breaks down and thermals go bad and the fans start over ramping over 4000rpm constantly.

I've got mine in an ITX case and i haven't seen it go over 65 while playing warzone. Can agree that the RGB Fusion is a piece of crap though.

Gigabyte support is shit, I had a 5700xt and the HDMI/DP audio scaler died and they refused an RMA so I had to ask the manufacturer for a refund under my ACL rights.

      • And? Did you get it?

        • +1

I had to call them a few times and get a little pushy, plus sent them a video of the HDMI audio being corrupted. But yes I did get a refund 7 months later.

          It was scorptec

Surprised they didnt include a support bracket. My MSI card included one and shit did it need it

      • My Gaming Z Trio came with one too, but no where to put it in my SFF case so I 3D printed a little support from the bottom of the case up to the card with a rubber furniture stopper on it. Works a treat

    • which stand did you use alongside the ELV8 to fully support the aorus master in your old build?

I ask cos I am getting the non-LHR from my brother so no complaints, and just curious now as to how to support it. my case is the lian li O11 (standard size) if that is relevant. Any recommendations?

      • For the elv8 you will also need 9 motherboard stands (stand size) to space the bracket forward more.
I used the one from my Aorus 2080Ti. they are kind of like this one here - https://www.amazon.com.au/Graphics-Support-Anodized-Aerospac…

        • getting a bit confused now.

So along with using the ELV8, i need 9 of those stand things you linked on amazon? that can't be right. I am for sure misunderstanding something.

          • @GrsySandwich33: ok, for the evl8 install, you will need 9 motherboard stand offs to space the bracket forward to line it up with the front of the card.
This is just for this bracket only. If you look at the build pics here - https://au.pcpartpicker.com/b/8LL2FT You will see what I have done to space it forward. If you do not have spare stand offs which would have come with you PC case or you need more for them, just seach for motherboard stand off on Amazon or ebay.

The link is for the 2nd bracket you will need to support the rear. You only need one of them.

            • @Auspcbuilda: ahh yess i see what you mean now. I didnt know what a motherboard standoff is but now I do! thanks a lot <3

    • I got one on release for $1649, I'm not sure what you've done to get those temps or adjusted the fan curve, maybe you haven't realised there is a silent and performance bios switch on the card and had it set to silence? Mine is set to default performance bios and GPU temps don't go above 70c ever and usually between 65c-70c max and that is with my office ambient temps between 25c-30c and TGP between 320w - 352w and default fan curve, I can't even hear the card. The cooler is actually very good with a massive cold plate that covers VRMs and Mosfets way better than most designs on the market. I agree RGB Fusion/Aorus Engine is garbage but not reason to consider one card over another.

its cooling and noise is the same as a card that is less then 3 slots, thats poor performance imo. if you do a google and check out the Aorus reddit, you will see a fair few post of people complaining of poor build quality, bad thermal pads and placement, some getting bad VRM temps because of it. Even some youtube reviews agree that its just wasted metal and not impressive for the size and price. but thats all in my experience and imo.

  • For $100 more you can get a 3080 Ti

    • where is $2199 3080 Ti? cheapest was techfast and evatech $2299 ones.

      • Yer, best I could find was $2299 as well. But for a extra $200 for Ti I would agree to be honest. I would spend the extra $200 and get the 3080Ti.
Should also factor in that the Aorus card does need about $50 extra for Brackets as well. But this is all IMO.

        • Some brands provide free bracket as well. Have you had experience with MSI? I heard ventus also bad with cooling, what about the gaming Z series? or the Suprim?

          • @[Deactivated]: Ventus, runs warm, needs high airflow case/setup, run standard clocks only make more aggressive fan curve with afterbuner. Suprim, not bad be careful of size. Gaming Z, no sorry, not in the 3000s series.

          • @[Deactivated]: I have the Gaming X 3080 which is similar to the Gaming Z but FHR and with a Graphene backplate instead of the Z’s metal one.

With the performance BIOS it runs <70c (usually around 65c). Would recommend both it and the Z.

There are quite a few reviews of the Gaming X on YouTube.

  • Who will look at that LCD screen while busy gaming?

    • -1

Mining is boring. so the tiny LCD is good for entertainment…

    • It actually comes in pretty handy, it's not distracting like an on screen display but still want to glance at stats every now and then .
