Same water, brewer and plant, fairly close match, maybe a bit sweeter, just chill it and enjoy, not wine where we need analyse every single element

I think that most of the labour would be quality control, marketing, distribution, etc.

Leo, Singha, Bintang, Chang .. all sort of similar.
Basically an easy drinking beer for hot climates. If you are a basic pilsner, larger, corona/ Sol drinker you will like it.

I read a lot of reviews where they state the same sentence, yet I don't think I've ever come across an undrinkable beer.
Maybe I'm just too stubborn to waste any kind of money.
@magic8ballgag: If I didn't like it, I'd probably take it around to the inlaw's place and conveniently leave them in the fridge rather than tip it out but I've definitely had some that stay in the fridge long enough to go off and then get tipped out.
Not similar in taste,brewed by the same company Boon Rawd Brewery.This price is a bargain,cheaper than inThailand price.Under 30 baht a bottle.
Much better than Singha in my opinion. It's generally the local preference too. Not rebottled or anything, as above brewed by Singha corporation in Thailand.

This is a very nice beer IMHO, and it's not one of those "rapid brew" cheapies from the Netherlands (ie. Hollandia).

except he's right. beer in Australia is 42% tax and increases every year, and is the 4th highest tax on beer in the world.

Pity excise isn't a percentage, and it's certainly not 42% unless you're (mod: edited) enough to think the $ per litre excise rate from several years ago is a flat percentage rate, and your beer was pure ethanol. I guess you are, and so are the 9+ gullible idiots who upvoted you without checking first.
At $46 a litre, the excise on a 6 pack of 375ml bottles of 5% abv beer is about $5. Buy a lot of six packs that cost $11.90, do you? Because that's what they'd have to cost if excise was "42% tax".
And of course, the rate drops to just $28/L for most tap beers that come in 50L kegs.
Let's move on to that fourth highest in the world, shall we? Doesn't really tell the full story, does it - like the massive drop from third to us, or how countries where nobody is complaining about the price of beer (like Japan) pay way more excise than we do, or that there are other countries like the UK that pay comparable rates for a pint in a pub?
It's almost like the price of beer is driven by a wide range of considerations, rather than an imaginary conspiracy that's spanned multiple governments for decades on both sides of politics. But that'd require thinking, wouldn't it? Much easier to add it to the long list of ways insecure men are hard done by.

At 5% abv = (0.05* 2250) = 112.5ml of ethanol
Excise is $52.49/L of ethanol (my bad - $45.07 is the <3.5% figure)
Total excise payable = 0.1125 * 52 = $5.85 (not $5)
$5.85 is 42% of $13.92

Or maybe there are just things that are really easy for governments to charge excise on to bring in revenue to give you additional services that you'll gratefully accept and demand more of but aren't willing to pay for through tax revenue? If they don't collect the revenue through this, what other thing that you conveniently don't buy do you propose they get the revenue from instead?

I agree, this is quite possibly the worst tasting beer I have come across, but I guess that’s why there are so many different beers to accomodate everyone’s tastebuds.
Yeah it beats 90% of the imports available here and doesn't carry a ridiculous price tag.

Sometimes I used to drive to Tweed Heads if there was a good alcohol special (only 20-30mins for me), but obviously that habit changed with all the border issues. Might have to get back into going.
@morse: That's what I do, except I am 45 Klm South of Tweed ( No liquor sold in the Byron store ).
My preference is the St Etienne but this is my second choice in summer.
I save around $12-$18 a week buying that rather than my local, so that pays for my fuel
costs and free trip every 1-2 weeks.

I also love how Aldi sells 12 pack beers. I don't go through much beer so a case will last a literal year. Meanwhile 6 packs are a ripoff by comparison. Aldi saving the day.
Great deal if you like this sweet beer. It has a dash of sugar in it.
I was humbled by the negs, but only now I realised why I got negged.
Either because:
* it's not sugar, it's low cost high-maltose corn syrup, or
* it has more of it than hops, so it's probably sheer obvious that sweetener is more important in this type of lager.
Great price, definitely stocking up (although stock will probably be hard to find)
