          • @onlinepred: Don't need to, GamePass has about 20 games that I'm keen to play, have never once looked at Xbox game prices because GamePass is that good.

I support all platforms, skipped the Xbox One generation because I felt PS4 was way better, now it has swung back in favour of Xbox because of GamePass value.

You sound like such a fanboy it's hilarious, stay classy mate 😘

            • @cook99: I have gamepass for cloud gaming on my PC, and PS5 for console games. Not sure why I'm a fanboy??

You said that prices are the reason you didn't open your PS5, yet clearly you don't anything, as most pre orders for PS5 games have been below $70. Weeks after release they can be had cheaper.

I really enjoy gamepass, and I wish sony would do something similar, but gamepass often does not have games that I like. I play Forza 5 horizon and Halo. If it suits you then it's great right?

I wish the PS5 looked like an xbox series x though!

@onlinepred: The reason you sounded like a fanboy is because you insulted a stranger on the internet for commenting that $125RRP is a lot for a game. And went on to prove your point by posting expensive Xbox games which nobody is buying when they can 'rent them' via GamePass.

I really agree with your last response, very fair 😀. Perhaps rather than name-calling you could just write that? You might have a better conversation by stating your point of view with logical arguments.

I paid $50 each for Returnal and Demon Souls but haven't played them yet because Xbox has had enough to entertain me so far, would never pay $125 it $98 for a game when I can wait a few months…

I was about to post just this. I haven't bought any games for my XSX (apart from impulse buying AssCreedVal and WatchDogsLeg when I first got the console), so many great games to play on Game Pass!

I do want a PS5 at some point, then I see the prices for new games and vomit. Happy to wait a few years when the heavy hitters come out for $20 under the Playstation Hits label. Or maybe they'll all release on PC, making the PS5 pointless for me.

Worth noting that the 25th Anniversary edition comes with a PS4 digital code.

Some people are speculating it may be possible to use that code, upgrade to PS5 if/when desired, then sell the PS5 physical copy.

Seeing a lot of talking down here of paying this much for a series releasing a game on average every 3-4 years, that gets significant hours of playtime for many of the regulars.
Then the market throws tons of cash at the likes of EA with annual releases for about the same price…

Agreed. This is the number one reason I have my PS5 - for Gran Turismo. Whilst I will not pre-order the game, as soon as it comes out, I will buy it… and I am hopeful that it will give me hundreds, if not, thousand hours of playtime over the life if my console… $100 is worth it.

    • There'll be a lot of PS4 digital codes for sale on release day!

    • No free PS5 upgrades after Horizon Forbidden West..
Sony confirmed if you buy Gran Turismo 7 or any first party exclusive after it will not come with a free upgrade and cost you

      • True, the upgrade isn't free - I think it's $15 AUD.

Although the disc or code alone would surely be worth a fair bit more than that, near launch at least.

        • If your a collector of physical games I don't think I'd want the PS4 packaging next to my PS5 from an aesthetic pov

Wah wah "I paid $120 for a game in the 90s, you guys should be grateful it's been so cheap so long".

Absolute rubbish, you people realise that video games are a multi-billion dollar industry and that's with games selling at $60 for years.

Companies have multi revenue streams within gaming (mtx, dlc, skins, subs etc.)
Back in the 90s they only got revenue from games.

Also back in the 90s gaming was very niche, so you were shipping to a much smaller audience thus needing to maximise your profit per unit.

These days companies make millions because they have a huge market to sell into who will continue paying money into a single game for years for additional content.

EA make more from 1 game (FIFA) than Nintendo made from all their games in the 90s.

So no we're not "lucky" prices have remained low, we're just being squeezed in multiple ways and don't think for a second if gaming companies sold their games at a "profitable" price that they'll stop fleecing you for skins, mtx etc.

Sony's pricing is rubbish, it'll come down because early adopters always get fleeced and are the biggest apologists, but don't fall for the trap, gaming is profitable at $60.

    • Agree with a lot of points, however, I hope gaming doesn't go the way of music streaming and its perceived value…

      • It bloody will with these peoples attitudes. At this rate we’ll have nothing more than mobile crud on consoles because idiots think anything over $60 is evil price gouging.

Gran Turismo is a special case.

Kaz could drop a giant dookie and charge $100 for it… its what happened with GT5.

People are just desperate for a racing title on ps5 so the true faithful will pay whatever for it.

And with the leaks it shows a return to what GT4 was like.

For me if its a title with zero replayability then you can wait… eg. God of War should be fun at release, fun 2yrs later etc.

But Gran Turismo you will miss out on the online events so its good to buy very early on for that, if you're interested.

    • Yeah I think I bought GT Sport for $20-25 in early 2018, with multiple hundred hours playtime since.
All those free updates since got a ton of good faith from me.

      • i bought GT Sport Xmas 2017 and it was great… for about 18 months, then the updates stopped.

Saying that, if GT7 gets 2yrs of updates then thats good enough.

      • I finished Gt Sport career events and licenses in a week of casual play…..after that it was boring online lobbies

  • Will pre ordering this from Amazon give you the pre order bonus? Or does it have to be preordered from the psn store to get the bonus?
