  • I've got a Zircon one from Masters days which I like. It hasn't gone detecting every wall as a live wire like some of the comments about the Stanley one lol.
I tried one of these bar style ones except by a Ryobi and I didn't like it. Sure it would light to the stud but I didn't think it was that hard to do with the traditional one, and it was lacking the AC and metal pipe detection. Felt like a downgrade, less information.

  • I do the knock method along with using the thinnest drill bit and still in a line to find the edges of the stud. A bit messy but nothing a quick patch won't fix (or just hidden behind what week be on the wall)

  • It has been reduced again.

  • Gone again!

  • Does anyone think Bunnings will price match?

    • If only there was a way of discovering that. If only.

  • had purchased one in december from bunnings, awesome piece of kit

  • Is this thing supposed to be new? Mine arrived today, the packaging was previously opened and taped back up again.

    • Mine was brand new and not like what you have described.
Maybe raise a case with amazon.

      • Thanks, yeah mine doesn't even work - definitely dodgy! They can refund but not exchange because there's no stock left.

        • I tried using mine with eneloop rechargeables and it wouldnt work . I then tried with non rechargeables and it did work. Something to do with the voltage?

Perhaps thats not why yours doesnt work…. but worth a try before doing the refund.

        • I used Laddas, Eneloops. Wouldn't turn on. Thought I bought a dud sensor. Put in a pair of el cheapo alkaline batteries, it sprung to life.

        • Thanks everyone! Some crappy AAs worked with mine, Eneloop & Ladda's didn't.

  • Has anyone who ordered with Amazon US as the supplier had theirs delivered yet?

    • +1

Yes, ordered on 31/1, received on 8/2, about a week earlier than scheduled.

      • Thanks for the confirmation. I'll have to follow mine up because it hasn't moved and Amazon seems to indicate I can get a refund even though it may still arrive at some point

    • I ordered the US one and my order just got refunded without any communication from the seller 😠
