"It’s the most fabulous time of the year, so come on out and reserve your seat on our glittering in-flight pride celebrations, departing Melbourne and Brisbane on Friday 4 March 2022.

Flying is never a drag on Virgin Australia, especially when there’s a drag show involved. Trust us, no matter which way you swing, you won’t want to miss this sky-high celebration of all out love. From shimmering drag shows (pack your syncing lips), delicious snacks (the food too), bottomless beverages, and pride flags aplenty. Join us in this festival of inclusivity and acceptance for all.

And if you’re looking for your 15 seconds of fame, then you’re in luck, because in true Virgin Australia-style there’ll be camera crews capturing the day’s festivities.

Seats are expected to sell-out fast, with one-way Economy tickets $150, Business Class tickets $399. $30 from the sale of each ticket will be donated to Minus18, an Australian charity improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth.

So, go on, book your ticket immediately if not sooner, and let’s take to these rainbow-filled skies together."

Wow. So usually specials are under 100… but special deal to profit from LGBTIQ+!

"includes bottomless beverages" among other items not normally on a sub-$100 fare.

      • So how much for normal flights in the same period?

        • +4

just checked my site for that day, half the price. But you're paying for the entertainment/food/event in this case, I guess! It sold out last year very quickly.

As a gay man, trust me - that flights gonna be full of bottoms.

      • +2

Pretty sure your not going to be able to get more than a few drinks with all the other people onboard trying to do the same thing.

        • +1

Exactly; paying for the opportunity to get a few drinks. More likely it would be one drink.

It's okay buddy, go lie down and read the Mail Online, you'll feel better soon..

Possibly a bargain from a food / drink / entertainment perspective but definitely not from a travel perspective.

  • Do you earn full status on this flight?

  • +1

isn't that a short flight from melbourne to sydney? doesn't seem enough time to party.

    • +1

Not sure if they'll do the same this year, but last year we entered a planned hold in order to spend some more time partying in the sky!

Anyone who loves aviation and fun will LOVE this flight. I flew up to BNE last year just to take the Pride Flight back down again. Was a sensational flight, most memorable ever. Lots of fun, good vibes and incredible atmosphere. In the gatelounge, they had drinks left right and centre (vodka, prosecco among others) and a DJ. It was a mighty party, then we boarded in an incredible celebration and partied happily all the way down to SYD. It was incredible and I'd pay double to do it again. Shame I'll be working this year!
