The new Model 1 Carbon Fiber has a unique patented comb design from Chicago Comb. This revolutionary design has a loop at the end to hold the comb while combing the hair, or to hang up the comb after use. At 5.5 inches (14 cm) long with medium-fine teeth, it's the perfect comb for everyday use and easily fits in your pocket or travel bag. Made of a very high quality carbon fiber composite that's ultra smooth, strong, and light. Carbon fiber is also naturally anti-static, unlike traditional plastic combs which can give you unpleasant "static shock." It's also heat- and chemical-resistant, unlike regular combs, and is far more durable. A truly professional-grade comb. Chicago Comb's new Carbon Fiber combs were first introduced on Kickstarter, where they were the most successful hair combs ever launched there. You can buy with confidence, as Chicago Comb has been acclaimed as maker of some of the world's finest combs. Chicago Comb has been featured and honored in GQ, Men's Journal, Allure, Martha Stewart American Made (2015 Style Finalist), Monocle, and many other top publications.

I wonder if this is made from real high percentage of carbon fibre, or is it just carbon fibre filled high temperature plastic.

    • +4

It would be carbon fibre dust impregnated plastic or it might have a few loose strands in it.

I deal with quite a bit of carbon fibre (what people would usually view as CF) at work, and it would be absolutely the worst thing to make a hair comb out of.

    • I've had one for a long time, its insanely strong. But I doubt its pure carbon fibre.

But for a comb its utterly indestructible.

  • +2

    This seems like normal price…

  • +7

https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B07D231R46 it's just their normal price.

What's so special about this Btw?

    • +13

See that picture of it against a whisky glass? Its for people who fall for idiotic marketing. Nothin special.

      • +2

That’s some serious amount of whisky

        • +2

lol yeah i didnt notice that. Barkeep, 6 shots of whiskey please and put it in a cheap looking glass.

    • +1

      Great for bald humans

      • What about for hairless cats?

        • aka Brazilian (profanity)
ozbargain changed from nickname for cat pu55y

    • +2

      revolutionary design with a loop

      • No doubt a HyperLoop!

  • Best comb I’ve ever used. Bought a spare, tx op

    • +3

Please don't broden them, leave some for fellow ozbargainers.

    • +2

Bought a spare? man, by the time you get to your spare comb, you don't have any hair left to use it on.

      • Lol, my partner keeps pinching my comb and misplacing it. Hence, need to buy spares, not exactly this model its too short for my liking, I prefer the longer one.

  • +1

    Mason Pearson > This

    • Mason Pearson comb or brush? Their brushes are amazing but you can't really compare it to a comb at all. As for their comb, never really tried it out.

  • +3

Well, my plastic comb has been going strong for at least 10 years. Cost about $1.50 iirc

    • +1

What's the use-by date on yours? Mine has started to smell, and the teeth are rotting and falling out

      • +3

I wash my comb whenever it starts to accumulate some gunk. So it's still practically good as new. It is sturdy, not a thin plastic. It'll keep going for at least another 10 years.

        • Sorry was making a joke, as though combs have a use-by date and need to be regularly bought

          • +2

@AnonyL: Ahh, all good. Sometimes it's hard to recognise humour when written.

          • +1

@AnonyL: And an amusing one at that… Gruen-worthy

  • Damn, $13.99 for a pocket comb ?

  • +2

Bought the titanium version of this comb and it's virtually indestructible, it'll probably be the last comb I ever buy.

  • +3

I like how one of its selling points is its revolutionary design of having a loop to hang it up.

  • -2

this comb looks like its targeted at douchebags that carry a comb around with them all the time and brush it at random times in public out of habit.
just my 2 cents. NEG ME if i'm talking about you.

    • +5

      Found the bald guy.

      • Agreed, jealous bald guy :)

  • The Fonze goes 21st century !

  • +1

How is this better than this pack of 4 for 75¢ reach? https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/231135/osc…

I tend to lose one every year or so. If it's cheap, is doesn't matter if it falls out of your pocket, gets left in the gym dressing room, …

  • +8

Well, I really like this comb. You see, I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack, I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water activated gel cleanser. Then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then apply an herb mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

      "New comb, whaddya think?"

      "woahoo very nice"

"picked it up from Amazon yesterday"

      "good materials"

"that's carbon fiber… and the loop is is something called 'revolutionary design'"

"thats very cool JV but thats nothing … look at this"

    • +1

When do you the comb ?

    • +1

So what do with the comb ? ;)

    • +1

      Let's see Paul Allen's comb.

    • Genuinely unsure if this is sarcasm. Have an upvote

      • satire, you psycho.

      • +1

It's from the movie American Psycho.

  • Does it come with hair ? I don't have any.. ( on my head to be specific..)..

    • +2

      Bald is the real bargain

  • Chicago combs are great, but this is just the normal price. I got all excited about purchasing another one, but I'll wait for an actual deal.

  • +2

I'm thinking about developing some new revolutionary designs for combs.

Had a few ideas so far, instead of a simple loop:

    1) an all in one torch/compass/GPS. For combing in the wild.
    2) a box of breakfast cereal.
    3) an adult male Bengal tiger.

    • +3

      USB-C rechargeable.

      • +1

        Great idea, a rechargeable comb.

  • +1

not even one picture showing how it's used, might as well sell this a fidgety toy

  • The photo of the comb next to the drink is soo funny…

    • +2

haha my favourite is with the leather jacket guy sitting alone staring at the comb.. either thinking "please.. somebody notice me.." or "why did I buy this comb?"
