Nothing special you can get them here for $188.61 delivered! http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/sc/servlet/Info?Track=SEHD…

    • yeah, i got mine from there years ago. they were the cheapest back then, and aside from that $150 deal for the adidas ones, looks like they still are!

    • actually, to be fair, the linked HD25 above for $188.61 is the basic edition (without the velour earpads and carry bag). the version here with those accessores is $212.24 delivered from chemical records. still better, but not as significant difference.

but if you don't want the velour pads (more comfortable, but less isolation and bass) then you can save yourself $20-30.

These aren't $150 any more, but they're $199. Depends if you like the Adidas branding.

this headphone has a very bright treble IMO, bought it last week, use it for couple hours, amazing clarity, very tight bass, but the treble too bright for me. For sale now.

      Tried burn in yet?

      • only tried for couple hours, but personally I don't think burn in will change the sound signature.

at first this sounded horrible but after about 70-80 hours burned in the sound was totally changed and it's awesome now :) just try it :)

If burn in can change a $60 pair of Logitech Ultimate Ears I'm sure they would have an effect on these too…

yeah, from memory i had the same issue when i got mine, but after "burn in" and years of use, i felt that they were much better. still the occasional harsh highs, but nothing i couldn't live with.

how much was "burn in" and how much was placebo effect, i don't know…

  • I remember when I really got into my dJing, back in 1991! Paid $349.00 for the HD25, legendary they are, and everytime you watch the Melbourne F1 Grand prix and MotoGP, the commentators are always wearing them.
