Uber Eats First Order Code Not Working

Hi,

I have created an uber eats account, but unable to use my $20 off first order code.

It applies the code first, but despite the order being less than $20 it does not let me finish the transaction until I enter credit card details. When I do that, it removes the code and says "oops you have already used that code".

And after that it does not let me apply the code no matter what.

I am pretty sure I never ordered anything of uber eats before.

Did anyone have this problem and were you able to fix it? Thanks!

Did you order on your phone? Is it second handed?

I have registered using my phone number it is a new SIM card (new prepaid number).

      • +6

I believe Uber eats app tracks device ID now. New number won't do anything.

        • -2

Thank you, it is likely, but the fact that it applies the code first and resets it after entering the credit card details sort of speaks against that theory. If it was linked to the device ID wouldn't it just not let to use the code in the first place? Thanks

            @Musiclover: Same credit card?

            • -2

@me1stt: New CC never used in Uber before…

@Musiclover: That's weird… Probably some glitch in the app.

Maybe contact their support to see what the problem is.

@me1stt: Thanks but I do not think they have any customer support, I do not see how to contact them on the website.

"Remember to use referral code down below!"
Not relevant for the $30 off.

      lol

Looks like OP will need to spend more than $20 to buy a new phone…

      • Ha, requested it be removed now

      • +1

The stalker skills are strong with this one :P

Lol @ OP wanting that removed… such guilt

        • +2

Removing the comment from OZB isn’t going to remove OP from Uber database

Thanks for the link, some great practical recommendations for people with the same problem where the system recognises you as a returning user in error.

        • Okay I’ll provide some advice when I actually find someone who is unfortunate enough to be incorrectly identified as a returning user when in fact they are new.

          • -4

@vinnychase: I didn't say that you have provided any advice. Just said that the link was very helpful. Moreover, I do not need your advice, thanks.

@Musiclover: Look mate regardless. Your posted question is that you want to know Why your first order code is not working?.
My answer to your question is that It isn’t working because there is a high likelihood that this is not first order and the evidence that suggests this is your comment from 2020. Now if you want people to provide you with methods to circumvent Uber’s fraud detection systems then be more upfront about it next time.

@vinnychase: There are a couple of problems here, mostly with understanding, probably because of problems with your logical thinking, and also some unnecessary emotionality. I had a girlfriend like that who used to overdramatize everything, but that could be explained due to her feelings to me. Not sure why you react to something I say so emotionally. Are we acquainted?

Every time I say something you misunderstand what I say and jump into conclusions based on incorrect presumptions.

I never asked "why my code was not working", I asked "how to make it work" if i have to give a short summary of it. I have many friends and family members who used uber eats, I have not.

Also, I have a strong suspicion you would be upset regardless of how I word my questions.

@Musiclover: Is bold making you think I’m angry?. I learnt it last week and have been using it ever since.
There are many variables as to why your order isn’t going through. I’ll summarise.
The minute you install the app uber tries to figure out if you’re a Nèw person. It looks first off at device ID of iOS/Android phone then you enter phone number, then email, then it tells you to enter payment method then when placing order it looks at your ip address.
If any of these variables match their pre-existing data they will give you the L.

                  • +1

@vinnychase: If you’re 100% sure that above variables are unique and New but are still facing issues ordering then other possible issues are.
                    1. Prepaid cards or disposable cards will not work in most cases ( Neither directly nor through PayPal)
                    2. Rooted devices probably get detected by the app.
                    3. certain things maybe outdated e.g. Android version, web browser version, google play services, iOS version etc

looks like you got pinged for fraud - you wont be able to create another UE account

Try the code 01eatsau22VQ - it's for $30 off, I received it a few days ago on a new account

    • -1

Thanks but it's account specific. I think you get this on dormant accounts 2 weeks after the registration or something like this.

        Promo code

        Just fyi
Also use the SHOPBACK app, that’ll give you an extra $10 as this will be your first order on your new Uber eats account

Suggested thread re-title - Uber Eats First Order Code Not Working With New Sim, Same Phone, Need Help Gaming The System :(

  • Same thing happened to me

Firstly, add your PayPal account in there and use that as a mode of payment

If that doesn’t work, chat with Uber support
They’ll ask you to place the order anyways and that they’ll reimburse you with your $20
    Worked out for me

    • -1

Thanks! How do you chat with their support? I spent a good half hour navigating the system but could not find a way to contact them.

I know, it’s quite the upheaval getting in touch with them

        Anyways https://help.uber.com/ubereats
        Open the link

Click on delivery and pickup basics

Then you have two possible options
Either click on ‘ I have a different question about Uber Eats’ or click on ‘I want to report an issue’ - ‘Promo code didn’t apply’

Use either of those two options to type your issue/attach a screenshot and they’ll get back to you on your email address. That’ll get a correspondence going.

If you can’t figure this out, let me know I’ll send you some screenshots.

        Best of luck

So you tried to do something shifty, and it caught you.

    zero sympathy

  • they are not going to give you $20 off a less than $20 order, cause then your order would be completely free, that is not going to happen, try making a $40 order and see if it works
