Just proves the capsules are truly where they make their money

    • Yeah. Just like printers and ink.

I’ve never liked pod coffee. It’s never fresh no matter what they say. Beans, grinder and Moka pot or French press is it for me.

And pod is really bad for the environment, despite all the recycling programs.

        • Yeah it’s pretty wasteful.
You also get half the regular coffee shot… if even that

        • I just shucked 100 spent pods myself this morning to do my own recycling 😁. Coffee grounds are dried and kept either for gardening or resin casting, aluminium going into the crucible to be melted down into ingots. The only thing going to landfill is the paper filter inside the pod and that's biodegradable - I think

  • This is a lot better than Vitorria Espresso and Lavezza.
    Anyway, not environment friendly!

  • Compatibility

The L’OR BARISTA machine is compatible with L’OR espresso capsules, L’OR BARISTA double shot capsules and most Nespresso®* compatible capsules

Hmm I think previous similar deal had better nachine (inc milk frother)

    • What does it mean by "most Nespresso"? … Just all except vertuo?

  • So depending on pod price, that's ~100-190 pods ranging from $6.50-12.90 per pack of 10

Was $99 spend previously for first 3000

Anyone from that deal care to comment on machine and results?

    • I got one from 2020 with the frother… only used the frother once…
As for the machine it's pretty good, lasted till Jan 2022 when the mechanism to pierce the pods broke, I'm actually surprised that it lasted this long tbh, the pod loading mechanism seems to be pretty flimsy.

I drink a lot of coffee though, around 4-5 cups a day, so the machine did get a lot of use.

I'm thinking of going with a non-pod machine this time, any recommendations for one around $300 ?

Better get the Nespresso then. Had an Essenza for almost a decade in the office, the cheapest Nespresso machine available. It was used by a lot of people and didn’t die. My current Nespresso is 5 years old, average about 4 cups a day.

No difference in coffee from the cheap or expensive machine.

        I bought a refurbished Delonghi Magnifica S ECAM22110SB for $250 about 2 years ago.

It makes pretty good coffee and the milk frother is easy to keep clean.

The advantage of this unit is that there's very little mess compared to the fully manual machines as you put 250g of beans in the reservoir, it automatically grinds the beans to your specification, internally compacts the coffee into a puck and pushes your desired amount of water through, and then dumps the used coffee puck into a plastic tray that you can empty into the bin once it has half a dozen or so pucks accumulated.

If you're buying new, I saw Retravision a while ago had a sale on the black version of this unit for around $500. The silver version always seems to be $100 or so more expensive.

  • Any purchases made after the allocated number or after the stated closing date will not qualify for the offer

Harsh. Wonder if they notify first to cancel entire order? Or if one can return…

    • should see the total at Checkout. so pay only if it applies.

    • You add the machine to your cart and if the total pod spend in that same cart is >$120 the price registers as "Free".

You will see that and a new total before providing payment details.

  • The pods are not bad.
But need a milk frother :(

  • Got one thx OP. Anyone else who has this machine able to comment on the crema? Mine doesn't seem to make any despite beautiful crema from the same pods on a nespresso machine

  • Can some one please confirm if it comes with a frother? And the quality of the machine/ coffee?

  • Got this deal at Christmas for the holiday place (spend $100 for a free machine). Happy with it thus far and likely to get it again for home.

Comparison base is with an Aldi pod machine and found it as good or better (in the flavours I have tried). The pods take up less cupboard space and fall through less. The full price is a touch higher but frequently on sale through Amazon in 100 capsule batches if you have a flavour you like that much. If you are in a couple you can go to the bigger pods with this same machine and do two coffees at once. In this deal it works out to about 65 cents each but in the deals comes down to around 37/38 cents each (when those deals happen).

Pair up with a frother from Aldi for about $35 from memory or the oversized frother for $50 which can do enough milk for 2 at once.
