It was a joke. For clarity I’m also not really a cane toad :)

Ive used this with my tv for almost 3 years now..
Excellent speakers that have really stood up to daily usage with loud movies etc.

Pro tip: replace the battery at first sign of lower charge as you don't want to be pressing really hard on the remote buttons trying to get it to work. I had to replace my remote as the buttons broke like this (plus I'm using the remote like probably 10-20 times a day). The remote replacement was about $20 from China

  • Thanks, I got the R1855db instead for $153 minus 15% cashback with free delivery (using 30 day OnePass trial). So $130 delivered if it tracks properly.

  • Good deal, just grabbed one :)

  • Hmm, something like this or a new soundbar (mine just died). These are/look cheap, how's the bass?

  • Cashback just tracked for me at $14.87. Does anyone know what kind of calculations Shopback go through to reach that figure? Even ex-GST it doesn't seem to add up…

    • +1

      $109 is $99.09 ex-GST, 15% cashback is $14.8635, rounds up to $14.87.

      • Thanks, it was my mistake

    • Better than mine, $3.97 and I got in before the promo ended

      • I also initially was credited $3.97. I challenged it and after providing a PDF of the confirmation email (which clearly shows it was within the promotional 15% cashback period) I was credited with $14.87 as above. If you can be bothered you might be able to try the same approach. Cheers.

  • Bought one , thanks OP!

  • Damn, too slow. Price is now $149

  • Thanks OP. I have the Creative Pebble V3 and they aren't all that much better than my monitor's speakers, so hopefully these will make a difference I actually notice. Shopback 15% boost worked too, phew.

  • If I'm using these as PC speakers and want the best possible sound, what cable do y'all recommend to get Digital SPDIF into a Microsoft Surface Dock that only has 3.5mm, USB-A and USB-C sockets?

Also, is there any way of setting these up so they only power on when my PC is on, rather than having to leave them on standby permanently?

  • 149 now, is it over?

  • /// Still waiting for my pickup notification from KMART /// Says it shipped, but I have no email or anything. They charged me the $50 from the last deal. Emailed them. No response. Hopeless

Have been using these with TV but still suffer having to toggle volume accordingly for loud scenes vs dialogue. Has anybody added a centre or a sub to improve setup comparing to a soundbar. How can i tell if a sub will be compatible?

Agree the remote is the worst possible shape and design for getting lost and cant tell if the buttons actually press or not.

    appears to be $109 again

  • And back to $149.. :-(
