Not sure about the different between Samsung EVO Select and EVO Plus. But 256gb at $38 looks like a good price except for a long delivery date for UK delivery.

Select is just an Amazon branding of the plus I think, great price.

Exactly the same card, it's just that there's a custom paint job for the Amazon supplied ones. That way you can't do a price match between the red and green ones (Plus vs. Select). Much the same way that certain suppliers like Officeworks demand a unique part number for a printer so they don't have to price match, but it's identical otherwise.

Spot on! Bunnings does the same. 'Lowest prices guaranteed!' - yeah because you are the only shop that sells that model.

The mattress industry does similar smoke and mirrors - they slightly modify print and model number so that customers are confused comparing between ie. Myer and David Jones. Same mattress, different look.

  • Absolute noob here. How does this compare to this one? https://www.amazon.com.au/Sandisk-SDSQXA1-256G-GN6MA-Extreme…

Evo Select is just like Woolworths Select

  • Could you run something like HiveOS off one of these?

    • Why would HiveOS need 256gb of storage?

You can run Hive off a $9 USB drive just fine…

Could this be used as a sim card. Would like to make phone calls with it but also have memory to store phone numbers.

Once ordered one of these and Amazon sent me an entire box.

And.. this is why I need to ban myself from this site!

    I'm back being a typical ozbargainer again… Just ordered 2… why? cos I'm sure I'll need them…

Memory cards like this is probably one of the things I wouldn't "stockpile" "just in case", in 2 years time you'll most likely be buying a 512GB for $37.

      • Totally understand, however, that wouldn't be the true way of an ozbargainer… lol

  • good enough for a drone dji mini 2 recording at 4k?

    • On the Amazon site it says: "High Speed: Supports 4K UHD and Super Slow Motion recording at 100MB/s read and 90MB/s write (UHS-I U3)"

  • +1

The highest sequential read speed benchmark reached 98.4 MB/s, well above Samsung's 95MB/s read claim. The sequential write benchmark measured 89.6 MB/s maximum, just reaching the 90MB/s write speed advertised by Samsung. These numbers are impressive for such a large capacity card and makes one wonder why Samsung put such a high performance card in the EVO Select line rather than the PRO Select. (from a review here: https://www.cameramemoryspeed.com/reviews/sd-cards/samsung-e…)

The performance is very similar to a Samsung EVO Plus 256GB card - sometimes slightly worse or slightly better, but essentially on par.

  • Time to try this Prime free delivery from UK. :3

  • Would this work on a Nintendo Switch for gaming?

  • Looks like it's OOS, only 512gb showing for me now?

  • could not get to shopback link? amazon link for deal shows me 512 for $97.74
