Have you cleared any debris out of the bottom of the sump/drain?

    • Yep, I have followed everything suggested to no avail. Still same issue, to the tip it will go

Call up Miele, mine was out of warranty and broken, someone from Miele came and fixed it, didnt charge a cent, he put it as under warranty, what is the problem with it though, maybe it can be fixed, explain to me what happens?

f78 says that it is a blocked circulation pump, im assuming you have made sure the ball bearing valve is not stuck, and spun the magnetic impellor wheel to make sure no glass or anything is stuck in it, this is the problem like 70% of the time?

        • Yes have done all that, a small piece of ceramic cup was stuck originally about 2 weeks ago in ball bearing section. Have emptied water pulled out to check ball bearing and checked about 2 dozen times in last week, only way it seems to run is if I run about 5 or 6 jugs of boiling water threw it.

@Mkak: try filling it with boiling water and then get a plunger into it, also for mine, where it connected to the kitchen drainage pipe was disgusting, i undid the the pipe and stuck a wooden spoon handle down it, the problem with mine ended up being a sensor that was telling the machine it was full of water when it wasnt, and like i said, i rung the miele hotline, a technician came out, and fixed it for free(even know our machine is over 10 years old), i googled the machine you have, seems to be a $1500 machine they still sell, its probably still under warranty, and if not, you might get lucky, spend the money on some nice Milwaukee tools or something, the machine probably has another 10 years in it, there is also a float at the bottom of the machine, that area can fill up with water, push the float up and give the machine a false reading , you just need to take off the bottom kick guard and mop the water up

            @Mkak: impellor wheel spins freely?

          • +1

@Mkak: also, if you decide to chuck it out, which you definitely shouldn't, as a last ditch effort, you should pour a little draino down it leave it for 5 minutes, then flush with boiling water

            • @Qazxswec: Thanks you all the help, I will pull it out over the weekend and have a look at everything else. Cheers

    Hi OP,
I've had Miele, Asko, Dishlex, Etc…
    I'm now on Bosch and I can't fault it… (Series 6)
I find it's Miele quality without the $2000 price tag…

If you shop around you should be able to get a Bosch for under $1000.

    • Cheers, I've had an lg last for tens years this current Miele unknown age and had 2 omega's which are horrible, so think I'll look at the bosch

    • where can I get a series 6 for under $1,000? they're all $1600 at the moment :(((

    Dishwashers cost MORE THAN $1000?!

I hear the 6 series appliances from Bosch is the way to go (line made in Germany) - periodically for sale on Marketplace

    Spenny but worth

Personally I'd go for drawer-style but household of 2 makes that more appropriate

I had a Miele with F78 error which was on and off. I replaced it with a Bosch Series 6 and can vouch for it. I just couldn't justify an extra 700 odd bucks for the Miele equivalent with cutlery tray at the top.

    • Not a fan of the drawers and 5 people.in house.
