I don’t understand why anyone would want a single apple share?

If you don’t have apple shares having 1 single share amongst your holdings is just annoying (plus the fact that I suspect there will be some fiddle US tax reporting to boot when you do your Aussie taxes)

On the other hand If you do have apple shares, adding 1 is trivial.

Seems a bit lame/ gimmicky to me, but each to their own I guess

    • +2

All true but still it's a $USD168 share - much better than the much lower value ones that stake gives away.

    • +2

All US brokers fill W-8 BEN form, no need to worry about US tax reporting, 2 Apple Shares (incuding partner) can pay your tax agent bill. Investing in US shares is no different to investing in ASX.

You can cashout and spend $350 USD on anything.

One Tesla share from couple of years ago is now worth 15 to 20X. With Apple getting into Car manufacturing that can be worth 10 or 20X in couple of years, no one can foresee the stock price of future.

You are not limited with 1 share you can buy as many as you want on top of the free share.

      • +1

Yeah, you make a fair point. I guess if you sold promptly rather than receive a dividend the tax is simple and then you can use the cash at your discretion

      • +1

With Apple getting into Car manufacturing

Tesla net profit margin is like 10%

Apple net profit margin is 26%

Either there is something we don't know about or the car is going to be mighty expensive

    No Chess Sponsoring

Waiting for the masses to turn up and burn this deal to the ground. CHESS sponsorship is sacred.

This broker has been flagged for money laundering
Customer service seems to be lacking

This broker looks sus to me but happy to be corrected

      Member of SiPC.

      • +1

I can't find its record from SiPC website, can you send me a link?

      • +1

Can SiPC membership justify Tiger Brokers' lack of Chinese license as per GeoInvesting report in my link?

SiPC seems not to be that powerful in protecting loss

"The SIPC will give you back your shares when it is convenient for them to do so. If they chose to do so."
"If a broker stops being an SIPC member, then the SIPC will only apply protection up to 180 days after the brokerage firm ceases to be a SIPC member"

How it’s fees compare to IBKR?

  • +1

How easy it is to withdraw 10k and the sold Apple share? Has anyone withdrawn theirs successfully?

    Found it
"Clients that obtained a free share agree that they will only be able to withdraw the proceeds generated from the sale of that share after they have completed a minimum of five trades, in which the price of a single share is greater than 1 USD. The share price should be above 1 USD, a share price that is below 1 USD in a trade will not be counted."

  • +1

    It's very easy.

    • +1

Didn't you need to make 5 trades?

      • +2

No, I withdrew majority of the amount without making any trades. Where is it mentions about making 5 trades? Even if there is any such condition, it's easy to buy and sell US stocks with free brokerage for same price or little profit.

Alternatively you can transfer any ASX stocks worth $10,000. Transfer in Transfer Out.

Mst my friends gone back to Westpac trading.

Rewards program is excellent, I got 2 apple shares. One for deposit another for doing 1 minute survey.

    • +1

      Where is the survey?

      • +1

Sorry it's not the Survey, on the Welcome Prizes. You will get a lucky draw chance there I got additional stock for free.

I have done the Survey which is on Top right hand corner, In Message Centre you will get a notification for survey. I am still waiting for the stock reward. Also they sent an email regarding feedback, once you provide feedback you can get $80 Amazon or Coles voucher.

        • How do you get the lucky draw Apple stock and the additional Tesla stock as per your later comment on this post? "Won free tesla stock. Rewards is excellent."
Are there more rewards we can claim?

          • @Partyboyz: For lucky draw,
Goto Me> Welcome prizes (You can win one of the stocks for free apart from the original apple stock based on your amount of deposit. (Apple, Tesla, GoPro, Twitter, uber, Virgin galactic).

I had a survey in notification, possibly I might have got it from there.

            • @vis: Awesome, will have a look thanks!

  • +2

Tiger brokers giving $80 AUD Amazon or Coles voucher for a user feedback call.

    • +1

Where did you receive this offer? From emails?

      • +1

        Received email

  • +1

I'm trying them now. They also give a $100 AUD stock voucher for referring a friend.

Just want to get the free AAPL share and a few more free shares.

    • Referral program also applicable along with the bonus offer?

  • +1

Thanks OP, I doubted it at first but now can confirm that the 10k withdraw is easy

  • This has now changed (Source URL: https://www.itigergrowth.com/activity/forapp/rules/?id=TBAU-…)

    3000 for 1AAPL and 1LuckyDraw
    with >500 <3000AUD for 1LuckyDraw

    • Thanks updated.

  • I also would not take this offer via share transfer. I would use fiat >$3000AUD.
There is a $50 share transfer fee per holding if you move the initial shares back out.

  • Won free tesla stock. Rewards is excellent.

  • Yeah, but the problem is will you be able to withdraw your $10k after you deposit it? Lots of people on google reviews are saying that they can't withdraw their money. I asked to withdraw my money last week and now it is almost Wednesday and they still haven't paid the money. So I don't know what is going on.

    • There is an option in the app to withdraw money, you don't need to ask anyone.
Trade > More> withdraw to AUD. Withdraw is easy.

  • They pick the phone up fairly quickly on the nsw number.

    • They pick the phone up but their voice sounds like they are in an Asian country. I'll call them now to ask where the money is that I requested to withdraw last week. Wish me luck.

  • Now they are saying that the withdrawal has failed. This is looking very suss.

    • Sucks man, sounds like some of the smaller horse bookies bullshit. Hopefully it all gets sorted out, let us know how it all turns out.

    • Withdraw process is easier through the app, you have made it complicated for yourself by not exploring the app and contacting the customer service to withdraw it for you and delayed the whole process.

  • Has anyone been able to withdraw the $3000 since making the deposit and getting the shares?

    • It should be simpler just do it through the app.

  • Tiger uses CBA bank in Australia. They can't transfer from their CBA account to my ANZ account, so I have now tried withdrawing to my CBA bank account and hopefully, that will work. Finger crossed.

    • They can transfer to any bank account, you have to login to you Tiger account and authenticate the bank account. By looking at your comment you haven't authenticated your bank account.

  • Good news. I've got managed to withdraw about half of my money out of tiger brokers and will try to get the rest out next week. This isn't like Selfwealth or ANZ Share Investing where you get your money out on the same day when you withdraw. It might take a week or two with Tiger, but it should work in the end. :)

    • After sign up, there is an option to authenticate the bank account, you can only withdraw to the account you have authenticated. If you follow the steps to authenticate the bank account. It would have been simpler.

      • I did all that. Authenticated the account on day 1. The problem was that they kept using OSKO to pay into my account instead of PayAnyone (which is what SelfWealth and ANZ Share Investing uses) and that account didn't support OSKO. Now I'm switching it across to another account that supports OSKO and it should work better.

  • Referral and this bonus offer both works or only one ?

    • You will get at least 3 shares for free.
1 Apple + 1 Other share (Apple, Tesla, GoPro, Twitter, Virgin Galactic, Uber) + Share you can buy with $10

  • Is it correct that the ASX brokerage is zero for the first three months after opening?

    • Yes, it's updated in the website.

  • This is working as expected and received the bonus offers.

  • Mrs and I both got 2 free shares each. She sold hers and withdrew all cash $250 aud profit for depositing $3k.I’ve decided to hold mine and use Tiger for short term investing.App seems quite good with a lot more in depth analysis than Westpac.
