My MSPaint skills are improving! New Diagram: https://imgur.com/a/mRA3B3F

We've got our Heartsine 500p Defib Bundle at an epic low price, $1960 which is a whole lot off the OZRRP of $2921.

We love this Defib because of its "CPR Reader" feature. In an emergency, it audibly alerts you when you need to push harder, faster or slower. One study showed that within 1 minute often people stop pushing hard enough and don't realise for another 5 minutes, so this feature is a real lifesaver.

Also, wanted to address the cell-aed defibs that many people mentioned in our last post.
The $329 price seems cheap, but you have to pay a $15 monthly subscription. That's $1769 over 8 years which is around $70 higher than our Heartsine 350/360p Defibs over 8 years. We've added Zip-pay to reduce the upfront cost of our models.

Like Cell-AED, all our HEARTSINE models get replacement batteries and pads if they are used to treat a verified cardiac arrest event.
If the defib is used on a non-cardiac arrest event it is only $200 to replace batteries and pads as opposed to the $329 to replace the Cell-AED.

Hope this helps and looking forward to your Defib questions and bad puns.

I think with over $900 off rrp, we aren't "charging" too much!

as long as I'm still @cheapjack and never @pricejack

  • Man if I'm spending nearly 2k on something I'd expect the diagram to at least be made in Adobe something

Brilliant!!!!!! Saved me an Adobe subscription

  • When are you going to start carrying ECMO cannulation kits? They are doing ECMO-CPR relatively frequently in Paris for 5+ years now in places like the street, train stations, the Louvre, supermarkets

    https://edecmo.org/edecmo-17-reanimateur-lionel-lamhaut-pre-…

Can't find a shareable video of it being done in the field (there is one from a train station floating around) but here is someone being cannulated for ECMO-CPR in an emergency department (fair warning, somewhat bloody and might be a distressing watch for some) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UK0yBWypCrg

    • Interesting video!
Who knows what the next few years will bring.
It would be nice in the meantime to get some more defibs floating around in the community.

    • Don’t know how I feel about people in the community cannulating femoral arteries and veins. Just concerned for the untrained that it would take a lot of time fiddling around trying to get it going instead of doing compressions. E.g. requiring ultrasound to look tor the artery and vein, then portable XR confirming positioning etc.
Not seen ECPR in real life though. Only seen patients on ECMO in ICU.
Especially in the community I’m a little hesitant about ECPR. Didn’t know it was a thing in France will read up about it… besides in the community I’m assuming only parameds can cannulate the fem a/v and even then it’s not going to be sterile. My gut feeling is that I’d rather AEDs around because it’s quite user friendly

I mean, what can go wrong?

        oh

"sorry i accidentally cannulated the femoral nerve whilst giving the patient hip haemarthosis"

  • What’s the difference between this one and 360p? Thanks

    • The 500p model has CPR reader technology. Basically, as you give cpr it detects how you are going and tells you if you need to push harder, faster, or slower. One study showed that 6 out of 10 medical professionals could improve their CPR, so how much more so first aiders. I'd recommend the 500p wholeheartedly. Of course, if you are on a budget then go for the 350p/360p models. They are still super durable, cheap to maintain and have long warranties.
