    Thanks OP!

"lyrics make so little sense they try to be funny but just makes me feel awkward for them"

TMBG sez: "Thanks for your concern."

Well, they might be too big to care… Although, just as I said above I don't see it. But their little fans certainly are not. They will silince any crtics by way of negative comments to protect their idols.

        • +4

hang on, so you can essentially say they are crap, and it's fine, but when someone else says 'no you', it's suddenly an attempt by fanatics to silence you?

Was looking for a saying about opinions being like assholes… what was that saying?

          • -6

@Fybre: Nice try. Essentially, I've done a little critical review to the best of my very humble abilities. I did not use the word "fanatics" I said "fans". And never said they were crap. Instead of discussing it with me they try to silence me as it is easier. Nowdays, people only like when their self esteem is touched with gentle silk gloves. Any critics of the things they like is considered a personal attack.
Also, there are more shades than black and white. I get it, it is hard to comprehand and no one wants to do mental work. So, I guess it was just interesting to see the way you see this through your glasses.

      You need to relax.

    • +3

you come across more like a music snob - who can't even articulate a critical review of the album without going off-tangent to whinge about RATM - than a "musiclover."

TMBG aren't even my type of music, but their lyrics are still more coherent than your rambling

Music is boring because it is so secondary, like a compilation of oversimplified Oasis riffs. Lyrics try to be funny but make you feel awkward due to being so cliche. What part of it is hard to understand?

    • +3

      It might be “derivative”?

NOTE: I do not endorse this opinion as I don’t know the band’s music.

I say with absolute sincerity that TMBG's Here Come The ABCs is quite possibly one of the greatest albums of all time.

    • One of my favourites is E eats everything

      • +1

I like the E eats everything remix (by the elegant too if memory serves) as well

        • Interesting, I'll check it out

No.13 on the 1998 Hottest 100 is going back a bit

I refuse to accept that. Lies!

  • I've seen this posted 3 or 4 times now over the last few years.

Is this actually a bargain, or is it just a free album?

    • +1

It's usually a full priced album, offered for free once before from memory.

Flood Live in Australia is regularly available for free though.

Thanks - just listened to the first CD, good stuff!

  • Ordered and got the confirmation email saying the download link will be sent in another email. Haven't received the email with the link…

    • Could it have gone to spam? Since it would have a link in it

      • +1

Have checked spam folder, etc and nothing came through. Sent an email to tmbgshop this morning to see if there's a way to resend it.

  • Cheers!
