FIRST TIME POSTING. Constructive criticisms greatly valued & appreciated.

As a first try in posting a deal here, on offer is FREE delivery on all orders above $50 within the Melbourne Metro area.
Whether the wine is worth that value, is of the consumers' opinion I believe.

  • Rated 9.1 by Wine Enthusiast (Roger Voss)
  • Gold medal winner
  • 2016 vintage from Bordeaux being widely considered to be a great year

This wine normally retails for €22-25 in the EU, and USD35 in the US.
So for $50 a bottle (accounting for the duty+WET+GST taxes) delivered in Australia? No brainer.
This doesn't happen very often for a 6yr old wine, where neighboring wines (from Lalande-de-Pomerol) retail for $75+.

"Ripe and juicy, this black-fruit-flavored wine is also richly structured. It has a warm feeling from the Merlot in
the blend, giving both short-term pleasure and more long-term aging. Drink from 2022." —Roger Voss (Wine Enthusiast)

Cellaring: Drink now or store for another 10yrs
Locality: ~2km from Chateau Pétrus (or simply the Pétrus)!
Production volume: 5-8 times smaller than it's neighbor, Chateau Siaurac, another reputable winemaker from Lalande-de-Pomerol.

Shipping
Free Melbourne metro-wide on all orders above $50.
All wines dispatched within 24-48 hours from warehouse.
Interstate buyers, please email to arrange shipping.
All deliveries are ZERO CONTACT (COVID-safe policy).

Weird, I have it set as $50 in the system.

      • yes because it adds the gst component on top of the $50 price

        • +1

Right, ok I'll further reduce the retail price then ($50 incl. GST).

Happy to sample on everyone's behalf and provide a review here. Just send me a case.

    • Happy to do sampling/pouring if there is venue + enough interest from the OzB community.
In metro Melb of course :)

if there is more than one wine …i’d say if you organised tasting in metro melbourne people would turn up ……make sure enough variety so its worth the drive and petrol ……covid has put a dent in tastings but the pont in sth melbourne still does them ……
i can’t see myself paying $50 on a wine i haven’t tasted …..even base on someone who writes articles so they get free samples …what would a wine writer know about my palate ……

        • had a look at your web site ….seems you have enough in your portfolio to do a tasting …. venue ….who do you currently retail through ….might be one of those things where you turn up friday evening or noon saturday and pour to people in the shop …. before covid i know in sth melbourne european winestore, prince winestore and the pont had tastings on saturdays at lunch times.

          • @garage sale: I do, and most of them are very accessible price-point wines. I had done tastings at Primrose and Vine in Essendon before, and European Wine Store carries some of my wines too.

Since this is a relatively new startup, I am still thinking of ways to expand my company's brand awareness, and thought OzB & Instagram might be a good platform to gain following.

  • Nice post and detailed write up.

Have fond memories spend few months zigzaging through the French,Spannish and Portugese wine regions including Bordeaux.

    • Correct! Better be safe than sorry, I could not afford losing my licenses eh :0
