  • I don't think they stack do they mate?

    • +2

I just did it and it works.

    • Right..when you click 'Buy Now' from that challenge it shows you only 4% cashback but I think if you go through the banner or gift cards section and get $50 it should stack

  • The choice of restaurants in Deliveroo is very limited compared to others in my area.

Reminder that Deliveroo has recently joined all the other delivery services by adding a "service" fee on-top of the delivery fees

    • +1

Is this only for certain restaurants? I use Deliveroo quite frequently and haven't seen any service fees - in fact, the lack of service fees is the only reason I do use it.

Edit: I wonder if It's because I'm on Deliveroo Plus? The other subscriptions do charge service fees, so despite not paying for delivery - you're still paying a fee on top of your food. Deliveroo Plus doesn't seem to charge it - but would drop them the very moment they do.

      • +1

Yes with Deliveroo Plus they don't charge a service fee, but have the most expensive subscription plan.

        • +1

Interesting. Given Uber is $9.99/month, Doordash is $12.99 and Deliveroo Plus is $14.99, I find that the money you save on service fees via Deliveroo makes up the difference in sub prices within 1-2 orders, and then its additional savings from there.

The lack of service fees makes Deliveroo Plus the best value for money subscription - but the moment they charge service fees, they'll be the worst and will lose my sub.

@poppingtags: For me, Deliveroo needs to offer more than just a few fast food chains.

DoorDash has fast food/restaurants, grocery (full Coles, Asian and Malaysian marts), pharmacy, homeware shop, florist, butcher, pet store, bottle shop etc. The Reject Shop is great to have as well.

Don't know if I'm just in a bad area for Deliveroo but Doordash can give me everything in the one subscription and the prices in those shops are usually quite reasonable.

            • @decc0: Oh that makes sense, I didn't realise Doordash had full Coles - or any of those other stores.

I only use Deliveroo for fast food, and it basically covers all the restaurants that Uber and Doordash does + more, so works for my needs.

Confirming it does stack with the $5 gift card challenge. Just have to remember to activate the challenge first.

  • Their delivery fees are way high but during promos it's okay. Picked up a small GC for those times.

  • What is the smallest denomination for the gift card ?

    • +1

$20 but keep in mind $5 bonus challenge is only eligible for $50 GC

  • Does Deliveroo charge Service fee like DoorDash?

    • Yes, 5%

  • Roughly 22.7% off $55 Deliveroo credit using the above bonus if my maths checks out

Problem is for me that's just not that much on Deliveroo besides the standard fast food chains that are only a short walk away.

    • Well it's $50 Deliveroo credit for $37.5 after cashback which equates to 25% off.

Deliveroo is the only one which doesn't offer pick up which is a shame if you are only a short walk away

      • +2

No it's a bonus $5 gift card, not $5 cashback. Hence you get $55 Deliveroo credit for $42.50 (22.7% off)

        • Oh yeah my bad first time I've seen that rather than bonus cashback

  • Also stacks with Citibank's $10 off if you have one. Just one more reason to buy the Deliveroo gift cards

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/614016

P.S. Just make sure you spend at least $25 on your Citibank. This might require smaller denomination giftcards e.g. $20 or $30. In fact, get one each and you automatically qualify for the $5 bonus. Triple stacked!

  • Hmm mines only showing 4% cashback. I have started the bonus $5 challenge though.

    • +1

That is only if you click 'Buy Now' in the challenge. If you go through the gift cards section it will show you 15%

  • Just wondering if someone could help clarify for me, please.
If something from Shopback says "Available while opt-ins last and to selected customers only", does the opt-ins portion of that mean one must get in as quickly as possible? So if receive an email that has an offer, if I wait a few days to "opt-in" or "start" then maybe it's too late and in account it will say I am ineligible for the offer. Hope that query makes sense…if someone has the time to clarify. I think I've been a bit too slow on these Shopback offers.
    Thank you.

    • Yeah usually there are a limited number of spots (opt-ins) so just look at that number and opt in before it is exhausted (that number is reached)

      • Thank you.
