  • No overseas calls on this better with their 300 year plan and tradein

    • +14

I'd probably break the phone before the end of the 300 year plan.

Wonder what android version would be out by then….

Perfect deal for those (like me ๐Ÿ˜œ) who get their monthly mobile bills reimbursed from their employers ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

    • How does this show up on your bill though? My employer is willing to reimburse the plan component, not the handset component.

      • +2

Only plan cost appears on bill as you wonโ€™t be paying anything towards handset on a monthly basis. So you should be fine.

      • Just looks like a normal bill

      • Thanks all

      Cool story bro

the good guys has 12-month 69/m 100GB with $499 upfront

      • +2

$69/m is a really good price

      • +2

Ask for the 256gb…. It's actually $399 on the exact same plan ๐Ÿ˜‚

Got the wife this yesterday.. the guy at the good guys found it for us just looking at options

        • Got a link?

          I'm keen for that

          • +3

@bisaya: No link we went in for the 128gb and the telco guy said I can see what else is on and showed us the deal for the 256gb. Just go in and ask for the 69x12 plan with the s22 256gb they will look it up and find the deal as our guy did for $399. Hopefully they don't fix it before eyou go in. We did it friday afternoon so get in quick

        • Isn't this only for 24 months? That's why it's cheaper?

        • +1

Thanks can confirm it's still there as of right now!

    • +1

you can also pay 799 for 22+ and 1099 for 22 ultra instead of 22 for $499 with The Good Guys $69/m 12-month plan (100GB 5G data)

      • Oh nice. It's possible to port in now and then pickup device when it releases I'm guessing?

        • yes, you can, itโ€™s pre-order and then you obtain that receipt from TGG to claim bonus from Samsung on their website :)

      • Any Link or its in store only?

  • ETC?

  • +1

If it's possible to get Telstra to apply the $10 discount per month for new/portion customers this could be an awesome deal even more so for $499 upfront for 12 months. Hopefully they add the + and Ultra as options obv with the associated price difference.
Thanks OP I'm gonna start checking my local JB more often now I've been waiting for another $500 gift card $59 12 month plan after mine finished just before Christmas so I'm back Sim swapping

    • +1

Pretty sure you can, just jump on live chat and say that the job sales rep said you were eligible for the $10 a month port in bonus and you'll get it

      • Who's live chat Telstra or TGG? To claim $10 per months?

        • Telstra

          • @gabos: So wow $59 per month for a 100gb calls and data plan, not bad actually

  • +1

This actually seems pretty good compared to other deals. If you want Telstra network and don't need >100GB, this seems just about the best option.
Even buying from Samsung Gov or Edu, you'd have to limit to the 20GB Belong or Boost deals to be cheaper over 24mths, and not by a lot.
Anyone checked if it's possible to pay the extra for the 256GB version?

    • +1

Check my comment below about the 256gb at good guys

  • Can we use trade- in bones 450$ in upfront ?

    • +3

      Bones?

    • might be with JB deal, not with TGG.

      • Any idea if I can trade in Pixel 5 for S22 to get a better deal than this post?

  • Any tips or tricks to get around the port in/new customer requirement?

    • +2

Add a new number on the same account then go to telstra shop ask them to switch services

      • Hi, can you explain that a bit more for the old guy here? Im on a month to month plan with Telstra with a BYO phone. I need a new phone and this plan/phone will suit me. So do I go to JB, get this plan and get a new number, then go to Telstra and get that number changed to my existing number? Or…? Won't they know I'm already a customer with my current plan and this deal wont apply? Sorry for my dumbness if it's simple. It doesn't sound like it to me. Cheers.

        • +1

I did this a year ago so can't promise it will be current, but I went in to do this deal at JB and was actually a few days short of being with another carrier for >30 days. Think the deal was expiring so I got a new number when I signed up for the deal at JB (rather than porting in my current number). Then went in to Telstra a few days later and got them to port in my current number onto a $2 Sim and combine the accounts. Just said I no longer needed the second number, they didn't care anyway. I could not get this done over the chat, they had no idea, but no trouble at all in the store at the time.

          • +1

@Helenn: You could also port out onto a prepaid with another provider for >30 days if you weren't in a hurry, then port back in get whatever deal is going after this time with your own number.

      • Can confirm this still works, just signed up yesterday and switch services then cancel the out of contract plan with the new JB number. Also, managed to get $10 off. However, it did take me 6 hours and numerous live chats to get it to work as many of them didn't understand what I meant for switching service

        • Thanks but you are able to retain your existing number?

          • @bluebluebird: Yep, I retained my existing number and have it assigned to the JB plan and removed the JB number and existing plan

            • @tenoclockfindu: Thanks and you did this via online chat?

            • @tenoclockfindu: Will this work - my existing contract with JB does not expire until 06-Mar-22, so can I sign up for this new number $69 plan for 24 mths with $999 upfront and once the existing plan expire - then I can transfer abd assign the existing number to the new plan?

              • +1

@bluebluebird: @bluebluebird, I think it will as long as your other number is not tied up in a contract. This method does requires some effort so just need to prepare to spend hours talking to Telstra reps until you find the one that understands what "swapping service" is

  • +4

Good guys has the s22 256gb at $399 upfront and $69 x12 with 100gb data (for some weird reason it's cheaper than the 128gb no idea why not even the guy in telco could say why)

Already got my $10 port in discount too via chat… So total of $1107 over the 12months with the phone upfront amount included

    • Well, that is certainly useful information.
Do you mind detailing how/where your got that deal? ie. Website/store/chat?
TGG website makes it needlessly difficult to find any info on phones with plans except for the few specific PDF deals listed.
And did you arrange the port in discount later?

      • +2

In store but it's country wide the offer, have to ask them. They have the s22 128gb offer on their site , the telco guy asked if it was the 128gb we wanted we said yes, he was like well hey the 256gb is cheaper .. let me confirm this. Then he looked around a little more and confirmed so we signed if up and got it on preorder. Now just waiting for the call to come collect .

The $10 discount just go online in Telstra chat afterwards and tell them you were told to come get the $10 off

        • Thanks, very much appreciated.
I guess I'd better head into my local TGG tomorrow (um, today), my wife is desperate to get a new phone ordered.
Now I just need to find a deal that I can pretend justifies getting myself an Ultra…

    • That's Telstra chat?

    • -1

Because the 128gb was supposed ti be only $99 upfront :D

      • My deal is 12months not 24….

        • -1

Yea, i was replying for why the 256gb is cheaper, because the 128gb was supposed to be at $99 not $499

          • +1

@Amr911: Nope.. the 12month plan on the 128 is 499 upfront. The 24 month plan is 99 upfront for the 128.

            • @quikstix: And the 12month plan on the 256 is 399! Cheaper!!

              • +1

@Amr911: Yup. Weird but confirmed, bought the S22 256GB today for my wife, was $399 and for dinner reason cheaper than the 128GB.

Ultra 256GB on same 12mth plan was $1200-ish (don't have receipt for that one since register locked out, have to go back tomorrow).

And got knocked back by Telstra chat on the $10 port in too.

                • @NotSpanky: Great, will go for the 256gb tomorrow, any idea when will it expire?
Did you manage to get the preorder bonis from Samsung?

                  • @Amr911: I haven't tried the bonus with Samsung yet, but it should apply, yes. Certainly indicated as such by TGG on their website and in person.
The advertisements for the equivalent deal on the 128gb S22 state the deal expires 9th March, which seems oddly late. But I guess the Samsung pre-order bonus offer will disappear after the 3rd?

                    • +1

                      @NotSpanky: Thank you

                      • +1

@Amr911: The bonus from Samsung you can only do once you have your device and receipt as need imei

                    • @NotSpanky: Try chat again with a different consultant, luckily I managed first go

                      • @quikstix: Yeah, that seems to be the general advice.

My wife tried today for her account and got knocked back as well, policy seems pretty clear - so might be a case of getting lucky with somehow who doesn't know/care about the policy too much ๐Ÿ™‚

                        • @NotSpanky: Picked up the wife's s22 256gb today, they got told they could release early!

                          • @quikstix: Ooh, nice. They mentioned might be getting them early, but I haven't heard anything yet (and I was back in store today fixing a problem with the order in my Ultra).
                            Hopefully soon though.

  • Anyone know how much for S22 ultra 512gb with $69 pm for 12 mths contract?

    • Look like you already worked out? 2149-300 gc-450 t/i -1100 fold3 t/i = 299. I got the similar number this arvo lol

      • The amt you mentioned here is via Jb Hifi … and is that $300 gc if you port in to jbhifi telstra plan?

Does TGG offers the same - TGG does not have the $450 trade in bonus.

Edit: my earlier question was on TGG 12 mths port in plan.

    • webtherapist posted earlier, $799 for 22+ and 1099 for 22 ultra instead of 22 for $499 with The Good Guys $69/m 12-month plan (100GB 5G data)

      • How many gb for the s22 ultra tho?

      • Ya so I assumed it's 128gb and I reckon … so another $300 for S22 Ultra 512gb so it's $1399 upfront for S22U 512gb at $69 per mth.

I could go with TGG this deal since my current contract just finished $99 per mth with Telstra and now I am with Amaysim temporarily.

        • Thanks, just calculating which way (Corporate or this) is the cheapest to get the 512gb ultra

  • Wait for samsung trade-in deals directly from samsung, iPhone would be more of a value to swap and get it at good discount.

  • +1

    what about the bonus gift?

    • Someone mentioned that you could claim it through Samsung online by showing them tgg or jbhifi preorder receipt

  • Would this work out well for someone chasing the 69 $500 gc 12โ€™month deal?
Assuming i could sell the phone for 1.1k? 1k cash over 1k gift cards over 24 months..plus the port in troubles

    • And this deal if you pre order u get the free gifts?

  • Any deal with $500 gift card?
I prefer to use the gift card for something else.

    • me waiting for it too, hasn't been one since Xmas….i just know if i pull the trigger now it will come out the next day

      • I brought the Boost 1year sim.
Knowing my luck a JB $500 GC deal will come out next week

  • +1

Haven't been paying attention to phones, but looking to get this deal for the Telstra Sim (Optus and Vodafone are rubbish here and need the big data).
I have an s20 Ultra, would the s22 be an upgrade? Camera wise? Don't actually find the s20 captures colour very well, especially reds (like a sunrise) so thinking maybe get this deal and sell the s20 Ultra to offset the cost (rather than selling the s22). Any thoughts?

  • Bummer i'm already with Boost already and it seems like a pain to port out to somewhere else then port back in?

  • +3

Have signed up a 99$ plan-24 Months contract-S22 Ultra at JB but paid 599$ upfront. I have done the price match to TGG [24 months 99$ plan advertised for 499$ upfront] deal and JB agreed to credit 100$.So I will be paying only 499$ upfront for S22 ultra. In addition, I had a chat with Telstra online and they agreed to add 20$ credit for first 12 months which means, I can save additional 240$. Anyone can try telstra online as the rep told me they can do 20$ credit if you sign up for 99$ plan. Good luck

    • Total cost ?$2635
      Did you get the 128gb?

      • Yes that's correct,

  • Does anyone have any details of TGG deals they can share? Can't really find anything online.

    • TGG Wetherill Park offered this when I went in, offer ends 09/03/2022 new & port in customers only.

      $69 12 month
      S22 128GB $499 up front
      S22+ 128GB $799 up front
      S22 Ultra 128GB $1099 up front

      $69 24 month
      S22 128GB $199 up front
      S22+ 128GB $499 up front
      S22 Ultra 128GB $799 up front

Add $100 to each if you want to upgrade to 256GB

  • +1

@quikstix TGG are quoting me $599 on 256gb with 12mth $69 plan. Not $399 like you mentioned.

Any receipt or details you can PM to me ?

    Cheers

    • +1

Same thing. Went into a TGG store, mentioned the 256gbs for $399 and the salesman dais their wasn't a deal for that.

      • I went into TGG store and they happily gave me the 256gb offer, 12 month plan, $69/ month, $399 upfront.. pretty damn good offer in my opinion… especially as it is only 12 months… thanks @quikstix

    • Just signed TGG S22 256gb for $399 … it is on their pricelist the guy even said wow that's weird 399 cheaper than 128gb at 499

  • Is this deal still available? Where abouts is it advertised? I don't see the $99 upfront deal on the website.
