[VIC] Purchase Gold Tier NFT for US$150 (~A$208), Get A$500 Worth of Meals, a Shirt & Virtual Metaverse Asset @ Third Wave Café

2116

Hi all, long time lurking and New to posing so please be kind.

I am not affiliated in any way to the restaurant and not sure if this is the best location but think it’s a great deal if you like American BBQ.

Third Wave Café have launched the first restaurant utility NFT Collection with a multitude of perks / use-cases.

2 tiers of NFTs will be available:

GOLD TIER: Total Number 9500 / Cost USD$150*
• Access to 10% of restaurant profits distributed to all NFT holders once a year,
• Free NFT T-Shirt - valued at $40
• FREE Airdrop of Land in the Restaurant Metaverse
• $500 in free meals
• Exclusive events only for the NFT holders

PLATINUM TIER: Total Number 500 / Cost USD$800*
• Access to 20% of restaurant profits distributed to all NFT holders once a year
• 1 Free Special Every Month - valued as much as $1500 per year
• 30% Discount on all food and drinks for the NFT holder and up to 3 others - valued around $2000 yearly if visiting regularly
• FREE Airdrop of Land in the Restaurant Metaverse
• 2 x Free T Shirts - valued at $80
• Exclusive events only for the NFT holders
• 2 bottles of house made sauce

Payment for minting of the NFT can be made using Polygon, Ethereum, USDT and USDC on the following chains, Payment can also be made by Fiat using a Credit Card

I am no crypto expert but did get some as the $500 benefit alone is worth it. NFT can be traded and is open to everyone but as the Restaurant location is in Melbourne will most likely benefit Melbournians more.

The restaurant has a dedicated active Discord https://discord.gg/eRqVNZ95 if you have any questions or need support with the process.

Third Wave Café Club Update:

My family and I had an amazing lunch at the “Third Wave Café” using the NFT.

The restaurant was fully booked so recommend making sure to book using the online booking service.

NFT usage was not an issue even though requires a manual process while they complete the software implementation for the orders and NFT Club website.
Got to talk to the Owner and could see the enthusiasm and vision for the restaurant NFT club, Keep In mind if you get an NFT you will find it very hard not being a regular at this place including bringing all your friends.

Things to highlight for discussion on discord and other tax forms.
The NFT Club is Not a financial product of any kind and is a utility. I am not a financial person but guess the legal team had all of this covered. NFT Club discord was full of people with questions that found that this is the real deal.

For the comments about the cost of the food not being worth it, please keep in mind that the quality is great, portions are huge, and the images do not do them justice, the specials provided once a month for free can feed 4, plus you get 30% discount on anything else. If you get the gold, you get $500 to spend which is over 20 burger meals. All this does not include the future of the NFT club, events etc

For all the negative comments, This has never been done this way in Australia so please get the facts first, join the discord and ask questions or even better go in and see for yourself.

I have my next booking already planned and as I can read on discord so do many others.

Thank you gregor20 and team for an amazing time and meal at your restaurant.

@Nalar: So many questions. The monthly specials are different every month. We are not trying to feed multiple people with the nft, how many people you feed is up to you. If you own the nft you get the utility attached to it, how you then spread it around is up to you.

We have hundreds of customers coming to us multiple times a year and bringing broupa from small to large.

Can I suggest you stop tryi g to find something wrong here.

              • +1

@gregor20: See, you're selling your NFT's value based on very large benefit numbers, I'm asking how you come to those numbers, some of which don't actually add up. I'm sorry that you feel I'm asking too many questions, but if you say "stop trying to find something wrong" without actually answering those questions, it makes me think there might actually be something wrong here.

                • @Nalar: You started asking questions about size of our dishes, how many people they feed etc… you want to know, come into the restaurant and see for yourself. This is the only instance in the entire WROLD of NFTs where you can actually do that in real life.

                  • +1

@gregor20: No, I started asking how you came to your $2000 valuation. You've been ducking my questions pretty hard. If you can't get to your advertised numbers in a public forum, your welcome to change them or just continue to duck and prove your just making up values to make it seem more worthwhile.

                    • +1

@Nalar: It's very simple, $2000 saved per year equals $6000 spent. I don't understand your issue. Are you saying that people don't spend $6000 in restaurants in a year with all the parties and friends and events etc…? Maybe you don't but a huge number of our customers do.

You just like picking and picking and picking at something. Does it give you pleasure? Why would you even spend the time, are you trying to work out if you should buy this. I don't believe that for a second. You are just bullying really. If you are interested come in and have a meal. Then we will talk.

                      • @gregor20: Hey we got to you admitting a figure. I'll leave it up to others here to determine if $6k spend on top of monthly free meals is realistic.

As for your personally attacking me, its fine, people who are being cagey about their product use personal attacks to make you feel wrong for asking all the time. I hope other readers found my picking useful.

Otherwise good luck with your unnecessary nft.

This clearly is a scam, when you read into it.

    • +3

Instead of making passing general comments such as this, do you care to elaborate?

Too often nowadays the word "scam" is thrown around.

If you state clearly what is presented and how your interpretation of that is a scam, other members can make better use of your expertise/judgement and decide whether or not your label is worthy.

Otherwise this is just a low effort post no?

      • +3

I love your comment and thank you. The word scam has been thrown at us so many times, it just feels terrible. Of course, it wouldn't if this was a scam, given it's real its just offensive.

        • Are you here posting as an official representative of the Third Wave Cafe?

Can you provide some verification that you're posting in official capacity so that any answers to questions will hold more water

          Thanks

          • +3

@peter05: yes I'm… sorry I Thought the Associated label on my comments meant that. Apologies.

            • @gregor20: Yes the associated tag is for that purpose but until a mod comes in here and has run through verification on you, or you provide other forms of verification, then you could just be another member trolling the comments.

I am interested in the deal but currently you are still an anonymous user as far as i'm concerned.

              • +1

@peter05: I see, no worries. I was sent this thread and could not help but pipe in. Someone has to defend the business.
What do you need for authentication?

            • @gregor20: you are welcome to join discord —> https://discord.gg/HhGDv9ena8 There lots of people there asking questions. In any case what do you need as a form of authentication?

              • @gregor20: Just wanted to provide an update.

                Service and food are great

Your webpage for "BBQ Platters" with links for the PDF menus aren't linked correctly, there could be other pages but being on a mobile device I didn't think to check the other pages for working links.

Otherwise thanks Greg + team for the deal

                • @peter05: Thanks Peter. Will look into it. Glad everything went well.

    • how is that?

    How good are Ponzi schemes?!

    • +4

do you even know what a ponzi scheme is?

      • -1

You're not suppose to know what a Ponzi scheme is, that's the beauty of it.

        • +2

that's just rubbish, there is a clear definition of what a ponzi scheme is. It has no relevance to our project or business. Look it up sometime.

  • +1

I've given this a positive vote for one simple reason:

If it possible to spend USD$300 (approx $400AUD) and then obtain $500 worth of meals, then that's effectively a 20% discount.

If I was going to purchase this (I'm not as I'm up in Brisbane) - I'd only do so with a plan to spend that $500 credit ASAP.

    • +3

you are right, only small correction, you spend $150 USD to get $500 in food and drinks

      • Are those food and drink at in inflated price? like a can of coke is $10 each?

        • +1

no there is no change to the normal restaurant menu. Why would you even say that?

      • +2

        Ah thanks for that!

So when you look at it that way ($200 AUD for $500 AUD credit) then this is a pretty amazing deal, all other things being equal.

        • +2

We wanted to make sure there is value there no matter what.

  • +6

I live down the road from this restaurant.

Their food is top notch. It’s our go-to for Friday night takeaway. They enjoy a cult following so unlikely to go out of business any time soon.

As to the utility of an NFT, all I’ll say is this; I bought into Bitcoin in 2014. I didn’t fully understand the technical side at the time but I knew it had the chance to disrupt. Reddit and other forums were full of ‘experts’ saying why it had/would fail (this was after the crash after the run-up to $1k). All the ‘experts’ were wrong and I’ve done very well out of my crypto holdings.

Moral of the story: everyone claims to be an expert or proffer an expert’s opinion, but very few people are actually experts in any field.

    • +2

Thanks for giving us a thumbs up! We are certainly not planning to go anywhere. Also thanks for being a customer!

No one can be sure of future value of most things, especially NFTs. In the case of our project, everyone will be able to at least get their moneys worth in the utility irrespective of the future price of the actual NFT.

    • +2

Yeah, thanks for this comment. I so agree with you. No one has the crystal ball and their expert "guess" is as good as anyone's. Some ppl are afraid of changes, i learnt it from crypto too.

Bought an nft earlier this morning and spoke to a lovely gentleman on the phone who was aware of this promo. Looking forward to trying out their menu this weekend!

Confirmed I do not have to spend in one go and can use it to dine in.

    • +1

Thank you, looking forward to serving you.

      • +2

Just came back from a fantastic meal, albeit it was way too much for my little family of 4.

Restaurant is located in a nice busy restaurant area in Albert Park and was quite busy when we arrived.

Food was great and very large in portion - same menu was used unlike a lot of Groupon restaurants that only let you select from a few things. Drinks included in my Gold tier credit as well.

Total bill came to just under 200, almost got my 150usd worth so the rest is a bonus!

        • Thanks for buying the nft and the report on your visit. Glad everyone liked it.
Yes, we don't have special menus, everyone uses the same menu. Nothing to hide here.

  • This is confusing. There's Mongab Pty Ltd (trading as Third Wave Cafe) who are going to give 30 percent of their after tax profits to this DAO to distribute to people who purchased these NFTs from Virtual Food Hall Ptd Ltd (trading as "Get Me Pizza", "Master Pasta", "Meat Pit" and "Munch Bowl" on the delivery apps), who may or may not be related to Mongab Pty Ltd, and who aren't even registered for GST even though at those prices they'll pull in well over $75k in the year once combined with their Menulog sales, and Mongab Pty Ltd doesn't even have an ABN, let alone a GST registration, and their registered office is in Bentleigh East, not Albert Park. The business name "Third Wave Cafe" is actually registered to a "The York Rips Unit Trust" which is registered for GST, but isn't mentioned once in the contract.

This may well be the most utterly byzantine corporate structure I've ever seen, with so many things screaming "audit me!" that it'd be like waving a red flag to a bull (the bull being the tax office), and I'd stay away from it for fear of being caught up in a tax audit.

    • Wow you are still on this train? Have we done something to you that you are writing so many comments?

      • You're acting like a scammer. That's what.

        • I will not be responding to your comments. You are just ranting on and on. Now you are claiming that we don't pay tax and will not pay tax on anything including GST and everything else. It's a bit crazy to hear all this? Next you will be saying that we don;t actually exist at all and that there is no restaurant and that I'm a figment of my imagination and that the food we serve is not real and that the customers we serve also don't exist. Why don't you give it a rest, stop imagining how a business that you know nothing about operates. Anyway as I said, no more conversations with you. You are welcome to keep ranting.

          • +1

            @gregor20: Pay no attention to 🧂 👨.

Just look after your customers and they'll come back for more.

            Keep up with 👍 work.

            • +3

@rektrading: thank you for the voice of reason! It still hurts but for some, everything is a scam.

    • -1

My main takeaway from that comment is that Kyanar might have something to hide in his/her tax affairs!!

      • There is nothing wrong with individuals and businesses using complex tax structures to avoid taxes.

It's a right under Australian tax.

  • +2

This is an interesting use case for NFT that allows membership holders to earn passive income from the NET profit from a business.

    The food looks good.

    Wow so much hate!!!
I love this place but live up north, so don't come down to Port Melbourne all that often.
When are you guys going to franchise out to Essendon?

I would definitely buy into this if I lived closer…

    • Might be worth asking on restaurant Discord.

    • +1

thank you… haha, we keep getting invites to expand all over the place including UK and US. Not sure about expansion…just in case, we are in Albert Park now, moved during the lockdown a year and half ago. So if coming don't go to Port Melbourne.

      Hope to see you soon.

  • Would be funny if the free meals are only in metaverse :)

    • From Discord: credit is for real food and drinks including alcohol

      • +1

        I was "dad joking"

        • +1

you are right, it would be funny. Some people here thought that was the case

The tag says tomorrow but can pay today when following the form?

    • +1

sorry, we opened it to the public now.

Here's an article from 2014 about how stupid and worthless QR codes are. Covid 19 says hello.
    https://carecontent.com/blog/7-reasons-qr-codes-suck/

The innovation cycle is such that those at the new and forefront are laughed off before something becomes mainstream.

This is a real restaurant with an interesting and unique NFT use case. Like it, love it or leave it. But those coming in here to dig around with a pitch-fork amuse me no end. Glad to see others are posting of the value they are already receiving from this also.

  • +1

Actually went to my first NFT holder event last night and told the owner that he should post on OzB since it's great value. Unbeknown to me, a thread already existed. Take it what you will, I actually bought the Platinum one and only had good things to say about the experience.

I can understand the scepticism as I was once wearing that shoe. But after speaking to the owner in greater length, I decided to roll the dice knowing full well this could be a rug pull. But being an existing customers who already enjoyed their food (and know their restaurant is packed to the brim on weekends), perhaps the decision to take the bet was made easier.

Fyi, you can always just get the Gold NFT and maybe shout the family or something for a meal during special occasion and just use up the dollar value? It's no brainer if you are still sceptical about it.

    ¯_(ツ)_/¯
