Boost Mobile $30 40GB 28-Day Prepaid SIM Starter Kit for $10 Delivered @ Boost Mobile

Needed a boost Sim for rotation and saw they are currently offering the $30 starter packs for $10 & as a bonus Cheddar are giving $7 cashback for every sale which is better than both CR/SB atm and for anyone who hasn't already might be a good way to get the $50 bonus for first Cheddar transaction. Either way even $10 isn't bad although they do pop up fairly often at Coles/WWs for the same discount.
Anyway hopefully it's helpful to anyone doing the Sim Swap dance between Belong if you used all your Telstra points recently.
Enjoy :)

UPDATE BOOST HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM CHEDDAR APP

cashback still available from SB/CR but at a reduced amount than the $7 Cheddar was offering.

  • Delivery may take forever. Check previous deals.

    • I bought one last week and it came in 3 days

    • Mine didnt take forever, but they did send me an expired SIM - the solution to which is go buy another SIM to transfer the credit to. Sure, it's only $2, but the automaton I spoke to on the phone didnt appreciate how rubbish it is to have the customer go and purchase another SIM to make up for their screw up.

      • OK. May I know if you have tried to activate it? How many days have passed? Optus allows users to activate it within 2 months of expiry and I did activate some after expiry.

Thank you for your really long title with no capitals and not following the posting rules it really makes me feel wonderful

    • +12

Thankyou for your passive aggressive bitchy comment! You must be fun at parties ;)

    • +1

A title won't fix an attitude problem.

@Clarky77 thanks for the post :) About Cheddar, I just downloaded it on my phone. Is there a promo code to get the $50 SIGN UP BONUS or is it for all signups + first purchase?

    • +2

You don't need any promo code but wait until you get the confirmation email from Cheddar before you make your first purchase so you have the timestamps if anything goes wrong! I've spoken with the rep and they realise there are some issues with tracking and will fix them quickly if you email them but having said that I haven't had any issues with my 2 purchases tracking just be aware and take screenshots ECT

      • What does it mean by "stay inside the Cheddar browser"?

I click "shop deal" and it launches the Boost site in my Duckduckgo browser.

        • Hi @tonydav,
When using Cheddar app, you need to shop via the in-app browser in order for your purchase to be tracked.
          Thanks,

        • I had to switch the default browser from DDG back to Chrome for it not to do that.

          • @Colin2905: Gave that a try and seems to have worked better. Not that hopeful this will work though.

    • Hi @elecpurch,
      Thanks for downloading Cheddar!
If you downloaded via the website, you should be eligible for the $50 sign up bonus.
If this isn't appearing in your profile, please reach out to the team at [email protected] and we can assist.
      Thanks

      • I have sent an email, having the same issue. The Boost purchase tracked ok but no sign of the $50 email bonus. I also didn't receive a welcome email when signing up, not sure if that is normal or not. Hope the team can help :)

        • Could you please DM us your email address so I can flag your request?

          Thanks!

          • @[Deactivated]: Would you mind scrolling to the bottom of this thread and answering some questions? There's a bunch of us who have all got $0.70 as the tracking amount after purchasing this SIM card and no sign of the $50 bonus.

Many of us have already emailed the support team but they are yet to respond.

  • Nice find, Mate. Hopefully the purchase will track

    • -1

      This is Boost not Mate

  • Anyone able to work out when the starter kit expires? Couldn't find it on the fine print.

    • +2

If they're coming directly from Boost then there's probably no way of finding out, but FWIW, the one I bought during the $8 promo on 2/2/22 has an expiry date of 24/8/22.

      • Sounds worth the risk. Need to rollover my daughter's Aldi yearly sim in August but no real biggie if I have to do it before then. Needs to be Telstra as no service here for the other providers.

  • +1

Are these for new customers only, or can I purchase a few and run them back to back if required? (for my partner who spends $50/month on Optus *vomit) Probably will use as changeover sims for myself anyway..

My Telstra BYO 12 months about to run out, and I've just used some points to get a Belong Starter Pack. Would love to get a few of these for $3 as changeover sims to swap Belong/ Boost / Belong for the next year or more!

    • Amaysim allows only one tracked transection per month. Very unlikely you get multiple from this.

      • Bugger. When you say tracked, do you mean through Cheddar?

        • SB/CR. never used cheddar before. it doesn't seem to be tracking automatically like CR but manual report similar to SB.

    • +1

I've found with these deals involving cashback you generally only can get 1 per month and many have terms starting you need to activate them within 30 days although that doesn't seem to be the case with this offer (that I could find anyway) so if you need more I'd only buy them if you'd still be happy paying $10. Remember they regularly pop up at Coles/Woolies at $10 and less frequently the $40 ones pop up for $15 (that's what I usually buy if available)
Re Sim card expiry I generally assume they'll expire 6 months from the purchase date unless there's more information but that's an overabundance of caution more than anything as usually so long as the actually physical expiry date that's printed on the Sim packet isn't dated before you are good for a year somtimes more. Probably more info than you wanted but there you go, Good Luck Mate :)

      @Pub Envelope
I finished my 12 month Telstra/JB plan last October and bought 5 of those $80 Belong Sims so now I activate them using a referral code to make it $100 and get 2 months of the 80gb $45 plan then Port to Boost/Telstra (depending on which one I get the best Sim deal for over the couple months) back to Belong (same deal using referral)
The only issue with Belong after having full Telstra for a year is there's no VoLTE/WiFi so if you are on a call your data drops to 3G/HSPA+ speeds & during peak times (6pm-10pm) you can find data is kinda average but all in all its pretty good. I don't have a 5g device but that could be a deciding factor for some as I don't think Telstra is offering access to any of its resellers as yet.

  • Looks like a sharp deal.

  • Tried Cheddar, not tracked after 10 mins. I suppose the tracking service is as bad as ShopBack (they intended so to minimize the bonus) but there's no clear way to report.
will email if not shown after lunch.

    • Mine tracked a couple of hours after the purchase but only showed as $0.70 (and not $7) ….. anyone else had this issue?

      • Mine too

        • Mine three. :(

          • +1

@Colin2905: Make sure you have a screenshot showing the cashback rate at $7 per sale and message @getcheddarapp via PM &/or email them at
            [email protected]
If it's not tracking properly for more than a few people hopefully they can fix it without each person needing to contact them individually if more than a few message them. Goodluck!

            • @Clarky77: Also 0.7, No reply yet~

            • @Clarky77: Done. Hopefully it's not a case of, "Stiff Cheddar". :p

              • @Colin2905: Haha me too but I genuinely think these guys are trying to do the right thing, of you want things to just work I'd still be using SB/CR at this stage but I remember when they had a 1000 and 1 issues at the start and you couldn't contact them let alone get them to fix anything. I'm kinda willing to give them a go atm for the $50 bonus but if they want people to keep using them they're gonna have to improve. Would be good to have another cashback company in there to keep up competition & hopefully get us some awesome deals but I guess we will see. If CR/SB are offering the same price I don't think anyone would choose Cheddar at this point though ;D

            • @Clarky77: Can you share a screenshot. Mine is showing 0.70 too. Will email them.

              • @Offers and deals: Sure, just PM me your email address and I'll send it to you as you can't sent images through the PM message system here.
Also looks like you have your account set to private as I can't PM message you.

  • Does anyone knows what the in-app browser is? When i click shopdeal, it kinda launch my default browser without the url if that makes sense at all?

    • If Chrome is your default browser it opens up a separate window that's liked to the app in the same way most apps do when they need web links using Android System Webview. So essentially it's a chrome window/tab but it's the Cheddar app that is in control (using trackers cookies independent of what would be if you opened the same link in the chrome browser)
You might need to change your default browser to chrome if you use a different one so things will track properly if using Android I'm not sure about iOS. Hope that kinda answers your question :)

  • Probably worth pointing out that the $30 pack for $10 offer, "ends 11.59pm (AEST) 7 March 2022 or when sold out."

    • Tx! End date has been updated :)

  • 70c as well

  • Still no news about shipping yet. Been two days

    • Boost take ages to ship and don't email you a tracking number. The best thing to do is get in touch with them via the Message Us form on their website. They do offer chat via FB, and surprisingly they're quire responsive but when it comes to anything to do with personal information, they'll direct you to the web form.

They can give you the tracking number once shipped, it comes in a registered post envelope.

      • Cheers

        • I'm chatting to them now, the Message Us form is actually a live chat. My SIM was ordered on 23/2 and they're telling me:

After checking found that your ordered sim card have already been allocated and will be dispatch for delivery on Monday and you will receive it by wendsday.

I'm now asking how it's going to reach me by Wednesday if it's posted on Monday. I don't think they know Australian geography and that the SIM cards are posted from Sydney.
So if I chat to them again on Monday afternoon, they might have a tracking number for me.

Edit: This rep is just making stuff up now

Not to worry I will contact our Dispatch Team to prioritize and expedite you sim card delivery.
Also checked you requested for an overnight delivery on your order so I will push the dispatch team to expedite you delivery.

I didn't request overnight delivery, and I doubt they could pull it off if they tried lol

        • I chat with them and it took around 20 mins just to let me know that they will contact warehouse to send the sim and email me the tracking. Pretty painful long chat

  • The deal seems to have ended. I can't see it in the app any more.

    • Yeah I think you are right, it's disappeared completely and been removed from my favorites in the Cheddar app. I'll change the title.

  • Can someone please post the original screenshot.
    Still 70 cents for me

    Thanks

  • Has anybody disputed this with Cheddar yet? Only $0.70 tracked. I also didn't get the promised $50 bonus as new customer.

    • Dont bother with new cashback sites. From history, most do not last long and eat away your cashback. $50 bonus is really too good to be true. It can have various reasons to decline the pay-out. Neither CR nor SB has ever offered that high bonus to new customers.

      Cheddar means Cheater.

As per the suggestion from Clarky77 further up the page, I e-mailed support with a screenshot attached. All I've heard back so far is an automated response that says, "… please note at this busy time we may take up to 7 days to respond…"

At least the $50 bonus is also showing (as part of the $50.70 pending) in the app for me. Did you download the app from the website link? I started by trying to use the QR code, and when that didn't work, simply searched for the app in Google Play. I then realised that doing it that way doesn't offer the bonus, so uninstalled the app, brought the website up on my 'phone, and reinstalled it from there. That worked.

    • I've emailed them but they are yet to respond.

      • Before I posted the couple of Cheddar deals it was taking a couple of days to get a reply and I would think being on OzBargain would've increased the support enquiries esp given they've pulled the Boost offer now. I wouldn't worry as they'll probably manually correct it for you but it might take a while. You can try sending him a PM message through OzB might be quicker?

        • +1

They have fixed mine up and emailed me back this morning.

They have added the $50 bonus to my account and made it so I can withdraw immediately (don't have to wait for Boost sale to finish pending), and instead of my account just showing the 70c pending from Boost, it now shows the following values:

          Cashback Balance: $57.00
          Available to withdraw: $56.30
          Pending cashback: $0.70

I'm not in a rush to withdraw, so I'll wait for the Boost sale to settle and may even use this app for some other purchases.

    • Do we need to email you to let you know that 70c is showing rather than $7 credit or you will fix the issue please ?

      • Hi yht,

Please email us at [email protected] ๐Ÿ™‚

        Thanks in advance!!

        Cheddar ๐Ÿง€

  • My Boost SIM card arrived today (Exp: 24/8/22, like my other recent purchase), as did a reply from Cheddar Support and a credit for the difference of $6.30…. Thanks. :)

  • I've noticed on CR site that SIM must be activated 30 days after purchase. Will cashback not track if I hold onto it for a few months?

  • Is the cashback from CR on this deal $8 eg $30 pre paid sim or 0.70c as the $30 sim is on sale for $10 bucks

    • +1

In the past CR & SB have not honoured full cashback for prepaid SIM offers when there's a sale unless specifically mentioned and they usually quickly change the terms of it gets OzBargained happens with AmaySim deals fairly often but if you want to know 100% you'll need to contact CashRewards

      • I have only ever dealt with CR but what you're saying rings true. Sneaky buggers trying anything possible to not pay

        • I don't think it's malicious, I think the problem is they have deals tied to a specific product (eg $30 prepaid SIM) and don't take into account the fact they go on sale and in that circumstance it probably voids their referral deal with the company.
They need to make the terms clear or keep on top of when they go on sale and adjust the terms accordingly.
It's been good to see most of them honouring the deals for people who get in before terms are changed lately but that wasn't always the case they'd just dishonor the deal or pay a reduced amount and blame it on "just because" ;D

    • Yeah that's a common thing they add to terms on these deals with these deals although I couldn't find any mention of it in the Cheddar terms before it went down!

  • +1

I've since looked through the various Cheddar offers a few times (nothing that interests me; at 56, I'm probably the wrong demographic) and noticed that most of the offers are a percentage off rather than a fixed dollar amount. That got me to thinking; maybe the Boost offer was meant to be 7% off (and coded as such), but they got the wording wrong??? 7% of $10 is 70ยข, which is what we all seemed to get. Did anybody actually get $7 from the get go?

    • I don't think so, they changed mine manually though almost instantly. Besides even SB/CR were offering $3.0 and $5 at the time and it looks now they are offering $7 & $8 so it isn't like it was an extreme amount. 7% would've been a pathetic offer for a prepaid SIM considering most companies are happy to virtually give them away as part of their marketing budget in hopes a small % will stay and pay full price. But I like your logic, it does make perfect sense!

    • contact the support and $6.30 added.

  • Thinking of buying this $10 sim card from cashrewards which would also give me $8 cashback. I have never bought boost mobile Sim card thru cashrewards or shopback. So, I would be interested to know how your experience have been in terms of tracking.
I never had any issues with Amaysim either thru Cashrewards or Shopback.
It's a good deal. Effectively $2 for 40 GB with several minutes of international calls.

    • If you received $5 bonus targeted offer, you got profit.

      • Yes I did.
Will give it a shot anyway. Thanks.
Is it just me or are people here seem to be less excited on this cashback offer compared to the Amaysim one ? Not too many encouraging comments ? Shopback had $10 cashback on $10 Sim few weeks ago and no one seem to have the cashback tracked even for the next few days although later on it was fixed from memory. Maybe something to do with Boost Mobile itself I don't know.

    • I don't really need another discounted SIM card, especially one that must be activated within 30 days to be eligible for the CR cashback, but I just bought another one anyway, lol. (I have enough discounted starter packs and vouchers to keep my main mobile number going until late March, 2023.)

No CR tracking e-mail as yet. Maybe this one will end up costing me the full $10, just to teach me a lesson.

      • +2

I have replied several times under the similar deals. Customers are not obliged to activate it for cashback. I had another Boost purchase in Dec approved. Only Amaysim may enforce this terms.

Boost tracking may take some time.

        • +1

Thanks for the info. With any luck, this latest SIM will have activation expiry date of at least late March 2023, but I suspect it'll just be another from the 24/8/22 batch.

          • @Colin2905: Boost enforces the expiry date. You may not be able to activate it on the 24th Aug. I had time wasted on it. For this little value thing, it is not worth contacting CS. The best is to try to avoid it.

            • +1

              @Neoika:

Boost tracking may take some time.

Data point(s): $30 Boost SIM purchased via CR arrived today. This one has an expiry date of 28/9/22. Still no sign of CR tracking. (And still Pending for the one purchased via Cheddar.)

  • Got 70c pending
    Emailed support got 6.30 approved
70c just got approved last week
contacted support and got 50 approved
    Feels like my birthday
