Suitable Pre/Post Mobile Plan around $10/Month Mark and 5-10GB/Month Data

Hi ,

Do you guys have any suggestions for me? sim+data plans around $10/month and data range around 5-10gb/month.
This is my attempt to limit sosmed consumptions ON TOP of very tight Screen Time.

Ideally I'll get 365 plans but most of them dump the data upfront. That aint gonna work for me. it has to be per month.
It's actually very silly. I am prepared to pay 2x more to get 0.25x data allowance every month. But I must do this to limit phone usage

Lets strictly talk about the sim plan and not pareting skills.

Thanks

  • Check Exetel plan as it does not automatically top up data. The data and phone calls are separated w.r.t. you can run out of data and still make voice calls or send SMS's. You have to manually top up data if you go over before the end of the month. It does have data rollover to a cap of something. Exetel mobile moved from the Optus to Telstra network last year.

Unfortunately it is $16 / month.

You may want to start with this type of plan for the first 12 months and then move to another cheaper plan. My son in the first 6 months had to pay to top up twice and has not went over since then.

    • Thank you. Exetel is one I havent paying much atention too.

  • is it calls & data, or data only?

if data only - Optus 50% off 12 months ($7.50/5GB/month w endless data after monthly allocated exceeded, shaped to 1.5Mbps)

    • I need calls and Data but that deal is very very attractive. Thank you.

      • Read the T&C very carefully as some Optus plans auto top up your data if you run out.

Okay then. Moose Mobile have a $12.80/6GB/month plan (for 6 months, then $14.80/month).

NB: Excess data charges automatically apply, and there doesn't appear to be a way to automatically disable data once the monthly allocation is reached, however according to this article, you should be able to either log into the account from the web or set up their app on your smartphone/tablet, and toggle data on/off at your leisure, essentially giving you parental control.

        • whhoooaaahh so many telco providers I never knew… Thanks bud…
