Introducing Service Fee with Deliveroo Plus and Increasing for Non Plus from 24 March 2022

This day was inevitable, but the main thing Deliveroo had going for it was no service fee + no delivery fee with Plus

Now from 24th March

  • Plus is being dropped $2 a month (to $12.99)
  • Minimum spend for free delivery at some restaurants up to $30 (from $20)
  • 5% service fee (min $0.99/max $1.99 for plus members, possibly uncapped for non plus)

This brings it basically to level with what Dashpass offers, 5% service fee/$12.99 a month. Only difference is the max $2 fee vs max $4 fee (although you'd need to spend >$40 to be affected by this difference).

If one doesn't pay for any subscription, Deliveroo will still have a 5% service fee vs 10% service fee at other food delivery services

Curious as to how this will change OzB perception of Deliveroo, are you still going to use it?

Stopped using delivery services long ago. The cost now outweighs the convenience.

Also the delivery driver driving like zombies on the road no respect for any rules

That was a 2% service fee which only affected non Plus members. This updated service charge was only decided today.

Having been made 'Partner' at a global firm listed on the NYSE, I have noticed month to month KPI's are down so I soon hope to pivot from ubereats and step up to bottle collecting, I feel this will catapult my career in the right direction and utimately cement my future as a senior executive at a prestigious firm listed on the asx200.

Clearly ppl jelly I've made delivery 'partner'. My advice, start at the bottom and one day maybe you'll be lucky to be out there, distributing internal client assets to end users and consumers on the last mile distribution chain.

      • Do you partner with a high yield investment with a 3 prong swastika? All Mighty Garbage 200?

        • I wish, pushbike ftw.

      • I just didn't think it was exactly relevant, it's like saying "I've tipped my driver $50 because they deserve it <3" like uhh.. cool story bro 😂

        • I agree it is a bit of a long straw, I think I was trying to illustrate from a 'partners' pov, that as SnowDragon put it 'The cost now outweighs the convenience.' appears to be a shared sentiment amongst many consumers of delivery services, as such the resulting impact is also being felt by delivery 'partners'.

I've stopped using any delivery services. They are just too unreliable and too expensive. Without a voucher or promotion they are a lot worse than just picking up.

    • +1

Even picking up is insane. Get charged delivery services prices and only save $4 delivery fee.

  • Deliveroo has never made a profit so one day it will eventually go out of business.

Just order direct from the restaurant and pickup or use the in house delivery service. Why pay 20% more for the privilege of using an app? Or 30+% more to have it delivered.

  • +1

Agreed with others, I used to enjoy delivery services but the price just isn’t worth it anymore. Rather just get off my ass and drive.

Exception is wing, free delivery and same pricing as in store. But this wont last.

  • Used the 2 week free trial. Made 2 orders, both failed but of course they don't tell you and you spend a hr waiting for food that never comes. Then 5-6hrs later get an email saying the order failed. Well duh you thunk?

  • Its been upped to 10% service fee today

    • Wow more than they told and also earlier than they said. Still somehow not surprised
