According to the price dropping rate recently, I think everyone should HODL.

Funny in my mobile notifications it stated non-LHR and I thought WHAT refurbished non-LHR 3060 TI's posted on Ozbargain lolz, thanks non-LHR for post 👍😁

Holding the line with my EVGA 1080Ti - Upgrade for to a 3080Ti with 8gb. No.

  • Holding…

  • -3

I have no choice holding with 2x 3060 TI cards in hand 🤣 bought both dare I say at the highest point with prices just couple months back, again 🤣

Edit: been advertising as trade-in with anyone with slower card as only way to get interest for cards on sale and a fair price for them,. well successfully sold my 3070 AORUS MASTER that way, otherwise one gets shocking offers, HODL on steriods lol, anyone successfully selling their high end cards love to know how interest is going or everyone is holding?

    • Did you mine on those cards to recoup some cost? I am not professional miner but the profitability a few months ago is decent.

      • Nope,. don't know how,. I'm guessing mining would be a difficult setup? and is it really worth it?, plus mums place what would be the electricity costs?, probably something I should look into, what do you reckon?

        • Nicehash shall be the easiest. Power consumption should be fine since each one consumes around 120w. Anyway, it is not worth it to do now.

tempting but no. I want 3070ti OP

  • +2

good price but you'd be a fool to not hodl

  • +3

MSRP on 3060ti was $688. Still a way to go.

They were as low as ~$620 on release. Buying a LHR model 6 months before Lovelace (RTX 4000 series) comes out would just be stupid.

      • lovelace?

is that a reference to Cardano and it's efficient PoS consensus algorithm

        • It's a reference to Ada Lovelace, but it was a strange decision to name a generation after her as it's arguable she didn't influence human progress in any way, shape or form.

    • +2

Yep. I really wanted to neg the deal because it's absurd to pay a grand for a basically entry level gaming graphics card. But miners and scalpers caused this.

    • Will see soon close to this if on average GPU prices keep falling $20 every week, at least better than used car prices which still bloody out of control.

  • It was 944 few days back at shopping express for gigabyte card.

  • +6

still $300 more than it should be, HODL!

  • +3

Well looks like the verdict is out… HODL!!

  • +2

    $1 under 1k. No.

  • isn't the RRP under $500?
How much was the 1060ti when it came out?

    • -4

how much was 760ti when it came out? get real. its like asking how much house in Sydney in 2015.

      • its not the same.. houses go up in prices… GPU"s and all tech go down in prices.. they are only worth their RRP at release for being cutting edge.. this is mid range so it never should have been more then 10%-20% more $ then the last gen mid range due to price of 8nm Samsung node

        • -1

apple and oranges comparing 1060ti and 3060ti.6 years apart.

  • +1

paid $759 in feb 2021, should be lower after a year. hold everyone!

    • Yep, we all need to work together and keep HODL, force prices to down more!

  • +2

“Stay on Target!” Wait at least til it hits the RRP before firing

  • If it goes under $700, sure I'd buy it at MSRP, any more than that, no way.

If you've waited this long, skip this generation if you can. If everyone buys at these still stupidly inflated prices, the next gen will be even more stupidly priced.

    • Correct. Fortunately I bought the Dell prebuilt lasy year which means the cost I paid for Dell RTX 3060 Ti is closer to MSRP.

  • Genuine question, why did Aussie retailers start charging us scalper prices that only miners could afford anyway? This is still well off rrp so let it all fall.

    • I ask few of them, they said, the distributors and manuf also control the price, they just reseller. supply & demand thing you know.

      • +3

Thats what they will say, we know its bull. Techfast has been able to sell pre-builts with good prices during the pandemic. I blame the distributers and retailers, both have thier hands dirty in this.

        • distributors and manuf also control the price" THEY all add a bit to the final price.

          • @vid_ghost: everyone wants a slice of the cake, and we bake the cake for them.

    • Because Nvidia and AMD allow them to hoard the GPUs. In China, there are brand new GPUs manufactured more than half a year ago now on the market. It is really hard to tell if they are refurbished ones now especially the old models released in 2019. Those AIBs can recycle those mined GPU cores via warranty and solder them on a brand new circuit board with brand new package which cannot be identified by average customers. However, if they can provide full warranty as the brand new ones, it does not really matter.

      • Other parts on the board go well before the core unless overclocked

    • You think they care whether a GPU is sold to a miner or a gamer? End of the day they will sell whatever the market price is.

For example, AMD said that the 6600XT had a suggested retail price of $379 USD (which it did on release date) and then the prices just kept climbing after. The fact that you see the GPU prices dropping at all retailers is an indication that they were jacking up prices for those who were willing to pay the high price.

    • I'd rather the "scalper prices" go to the retailers/manufacturers/etc than the scalpers

      • retailers/manufacturer provide jobs and pay salary, scalpers are just selfish b@stard for his own gain.

especially miners and scalpers like this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/325058845792

  • HODL till 4 series or die trying!

did they photoshop the gun out of the guys hand on the box art

  • Feels like only a couple of years ago I paid this type of price for my 2080 Super
