Where to Shop for Suits in Sydney?

I've just picked up a senior job in the Canberra public service, where I'm expecting that I'll be meeting a few times a week with Ministers and Secretaries. Therefore, I need to look more professional than I've been getting away with while WFH or contracting with organisations with less formal dress standards.

One benefit of Covid and WFH has been that I've been able to shift some unwanted weight, so that the suits that I had tailor-made in SE Asia the last time I was in a similar role no longer fit. Therefore, I need to go shopping for 1-2 new suits within the next week, but I have no idea where to go looking. I'd prefer places in/near the Sydney CBD as its easy for me to get there so long as the trains are running.

Once upon a time I would have checked out Myer and DJs, but I don't need fancy brands. I'm thinking something in pure wool, ideally around the $600-$1000 mark that will last a year or two until I get the chance to travel O/S again. Many years ago, the sorts of brands I would have been looking at would have been Hugo Boss, Staffard Ellinson, … but I have no idea if these brands have gone up or down market since, whether they still exist, or even what an average suits costs these days.

Does anyone have any recommendations for brands that will look professional but aren't priced over the top? What about places to go shopping?

People tend to outgrow their suits after putting on weight and there's usually not enough material to 'extend' the seams. But since you've actually shrunken, you can easily take your existing suits to the tailor and get them taken in. (if they've still got a lot of life left in them,
