in fact all flights are via Singapore. Click on the "i" icon before the prices after searching flights
some stopovers are 22hrs, some are 5hs, etc

  • Super cheap its 362 with luggage Goldie to Bangkok.

  • Just booked BKK return Gold Coast for $362, damn, it is cheap. Just noticed the stop-over in S'pore is more than 24 hours, mean have to spend extra $$ to book hotel there.

Please ignore if you have been to Sg before.. but here's a couple of hints to try to save a bit of money.

Changi airport (one of the best airports IMHO) has got lots of stuff inside, including hotels. Last time I had a similar stopover and just paid for an overnight hotel in the airport, wasn't that expensive and dont really need to transit to/from Sg city itself.

Also dont forget to take advantage of a FREE* tour if you are just stopping over.

      Enjoy your trip!

      • That's expensive for the stopovers being mentioned here. For 20 hours, the rate is close to $300 - more than the cost of this airfare! Sure, you might be able to chop a few more hours off before and after to knock a few dollars off, but that sort of rate is the same as a high standard hotel daily rate.

The real problem is some of these flights have terrible connections, with almost a whole day wasted, especially if you're just hanging around an airport. If they can be made as stopovers, maybe not so bad, but they're badly timed as end-to-end flights.

        • Well, if you want to stay in your hotel room for 20 hrs then yes, its expensive. But I'm just giving options. What would you suggest? Sleeping in the terminal already suggested below as well.

for 20 hrs, there's the 8 hrs sleep room within the hotel (or they can sleep outside) and if you take the 2 hr free tour, then that kills more than 1/2 the time already.

So relax, I'm not disagreeing that these flights have horrible connections (I've traveled quite a bit myself both budget and non budget airlines), but I dont see ppl complaining when they get the cheap flights in the first place.

    • Go out and explore Singapore, it's beautiful and you can get around the country in an hour, its not a big country, lots of sightseeing to do within 24 hours!

  • this is just too good to be true, I noticed the stop over in Singapore but just checked it and you can get some liveable hotels for around $50 a night. Absolute BARGAIN

Being a true ozbargainer you should sleep at the airport! lol

There are some free napping areas with recliner in the airport.

or you can pay to stay at a public lounge. Quite reasonably priced.

You can stay at a proper hotel like the Paramount (20 mins from the airport) for well less than $100..

There's a high speed train from Tianjin that will get you to Beijing in under an hour

Tianjin is my home town. Taxi from Tianjin Air port to Tianjin Train station takes 30 min, and taking train from Tianjin To Beijing takes 30-35 mins. total cost (taxi+train) is around 140rmb which equals 20AUD

      • any advice on wholesale shopping (beijing or shanghai) and which company can ship back to sydney? i did not purchase any extra baggage on scoot. any advice for an american female traveling alone? I want to take the train to beijing : )

  • Can anyone comment on the Bangkok weather during these travel dates? Seems like the rainy season :(

    • Bangkok weather is bipolar! You will get hot humid days the next rainy monsoon type weather :D

  • No December flight dates or do we have to wait for a few months till December shows up?

  • Thanks OP. Booked for my holiday in Singapore.

  • Great for cheap connecting flights from SIN to rest of Asia.

Anyone know which asian cities have accom for <$50/night? Checked on hotelscombined & most are $60+ for single room.

I'm contemplating backpacking anywhere within asia anywhere between 2wks-2mths by myself on med budget & would like to stay in single room/studio as opposed to hostels mainly due to personal privacy.

    • Vietnam & Cambodia?
