Pretty good price, you'd never pay retail (double) for one. The sound is meant to be much better than the connectivity/glitches looking at the comments.
Unsure how much better it would be than my q70t, tempting if you can still sell those for decent money. I think these wireless Atmos speakers would be better than the little wired ones I got for $150, should be able to use the same satellite stands. (Edit: the wireless speakers weight 900g each so possibly not)

I noticed most of the new ones have textile wrap and display on the top which is a shame, guess they are designed for displaying on a Samsung TV so you don't need to see the display.

I've got these stands which may work
      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/371009286461
although the ps-ra95bb-1 are about 400g heavier, too heavy for keyhole mount but perhaps could sit on top if it allows.

      • +1

Same stands and work for me

        • Cheers, they don't have real heavy bases but would be fine if the speaker was sitting centred on top of the poles.
Not sure if it's even worth an upgrade as the Q70T are pretty good, and i've got separate speakers for music.

          • @G-rig: I have the Q950T and love them, Atmos and eARC is pretty good!!

            • @coasttech: Alright done. Nothing Wrong with the Q70T bur should get a decent price to sell them with the wired surrounds as well.

        • to clarify, you have those stands for Q950A speakers and they work well? or on a Q70T?

          • +1

@Mazozb: Q950T and it works well, pretty much the same same

          • +1

@Mazozb: One of my speakers took a nose-dive with these stands. On carpet the speakers are just a little too heavy IMHO. They are at ear level height, would be more stable down lower. Also had to shim between stand and bolt to get them pointing straight out.

            • @Quarn: Yeah I asked the guy at Selby and probably only good up to 500g , probably not 900g

      • Hi man I have been looking for stands and read somewhere that the face of the rears point downwards with these stands because of the top of these stands being flimsy… What are your views based on actual use? I have been eyeing these but they are a bit expensive at the moment so waiting for a deal.

        • I'd like to know too.. the Selby ones are good for the very light wired Speaker set, and great for $50 delivered (eBay plus). Not worth spending too much but probably better ones around for the bigger speakers. Also if that's The case could sell them with the speakers as a bundle.

Bummer I bought a few of days ago from appliances Online eBay with the afterpay code for $1,115.20. could have saved a further $15.

    • +5

Further update: I reached out to Appliances Online and they price matched it to me. These guys are good - 5 star service. eBay not so much because they wouldn't honour their own price guarantee.

      • Wow. They outright rejected my price match request to 1185.
Apparently it’s a 2022 policy not to price match.

Glad that it didn’t work out. Lol,

        • I got price matched to $1198 but I had used Afterpay 10% on $1239 on eBay so all and all it cost me $1074.10. I don't think it can get any better at this point.

Thoughts after one day of use:

    • Completely blown away by the functionality and sound and I haven't even installed the rears on stands behind me yet.

    • The system gave me a mini-heart attack when I mistakenly tapped the volume pushing the volume slider on the Alexa app to 75% while playing on the Soundbar. Holy Eff is it loud. Sound is top notch it started shaking the windows in home.

    • Works with Alexa, Google Home (as Chromecast Audio as well as Cast locally saved songs from another device). You will SmartThings app to configure both. Funny enough only the setting works well with the Samsung Music app on the phone.

    • Getting Atmos to work through a non-Samsung TV was a little tricky but eventually got there. I was able to use eArc on my LG TV. Initially the TV wasn't passing the Atmos signal to the soundbar over eArc HDMI. The trick is to go into the advanced audio settings in the TV and 1) activate eArc and 2) then set audio output to Unprocessed / Uncompressed / Passthrough (whatever is available in the list). The TV might not show Atmos indicator on screen but the Soundbar indicator will show Dolby Atmos whenever you play anything on the TV that has the required signals (for e.g. Disney+ content).

All and all I think it's an awesome piece of equipment.

    • Sounds good (pun intended)
I plug a Chromecast with Google TV into the HDMI on the soundbar, takes care of all my streaming and Atmos. Works well turning that the soundbar and TV on/off with the Google or tv remote or voice control etc

      • Oh forgot to add that the LG TV magic remote works as universal remote on the soundbar. Turns on and off, volume control, etc. Actually the LG TV magic remote is pretty good too, it even works on my Amazon Firestick.

        • +1

yeah all usually works pretty well wtih HDMI Arc and CEC.

Even though my Eko has a decennt built in android tv/google assit remote, it's a much better experience using the google one. The remote is also bluetooth so don't need to point it right at the telly etc.

The Eko does struggle with the input selector button using the google remote but not that much of a drama (pretty sure my old Sony worked a bit better).

May still consider some alternative stands, got about 3 weeks until the soundbar turns up. I don't think the Selby stands are really designed to hold more than 0.5kg.

These look alright, would prefer some that you could run the cables through (there is a brand recommended on reddit but not cheap)and may need longer power cables anyway
900mm Pedestal Speaker Stands Pair SAS04900

  • These look alright, but MDF. I'd get another pair of ULTIMATE stands (aluminium/metal) but certainly not cheap these days nor make the same ones.

  • Delivery date showing up as 29/03 now.. winner where they are coming from. No big rush to sell my Q70T now but listed it, carb reduce a little closer to the date.

PS ended up ordering these stands, perfect for the rears, even without free Amazon us shipping it's cheaper then Amazon Australia by a fair chunk:
