I had this set and the non stick coating started peeling after about 6 months. Were being looked after, not in dishwasher etc… got them at this sort of price I don't think they ever sell for RRP

Thanks for the review, saved me a $95 impulse purchase!

The best advice I've had from a chefs is to buy non-stick stuff as cheap as possible, because even the best coatings only last 12 months maximum before they degrade enough to stop working properly.

I'm much happier with my blue carbon steel pan, and after only a month or two it was about as good as a non-stick pan.

      • Can you share which blue carbon steel plan you use?

        • Just a cheapo from Kitchen Warehouse: https://www.kitchenware.com.au/pyrolux-industry-blue-steel-f…

My only complaint is the handle length, which prevents doing stove-top to oven transfers, but I have a cast iron pan I can use if I need to do that, so it's not a dealbreaker.

Compared to a cast iron pan, it seasons much quicker, and becomes fully functional within 6 months, rather than taking a year or so to get good.

@sortius: The pyrolux ones are okay, but wouldn't recommend using pyrolux for a big one.
The steel is too thin and can warp. I returned mine from Amazon and spent a little more on matfer bourgeat, but I still have a small pyrolux one that works well for eggs and small stuff

            • @KnifeEnthusiastBoi: I haven't had problems yet, and the steel seems ok, but I'll keep an eye out for it. If it does warp, I'll check out the Matfer Bourgeat pans.

I do tend to use high heat quite often on it, so it won't be long before any problems arise if they do.

yes i also bought these a few years ago and they were a nightmare.. i don't use oil when i cook.. or only oil spray, and i got so sick of trying to clean these fuc.ers with the stupid rings, that i just threw it in the bin.

I can confirm that if you're using them daily, they won't last more than 12 months. I went through 2 sets and they lasted pretty much the same duration.

You're almost certainly better off buying a $16 Kmart non-stick pan every 4-6 months.

    • Not to mention the non stick coating ends up in the food you cook.

    • Same experience but a bit longer than 6 months. Probably 12 months.

Also paid $90ish from David Jones with a big sign saying 75% off.

    Showing $11 postage to 4000.

$99 with free postage here or $89 delivered with the code TENOFF50DOLLARS

  • I have this and purchased for 99$ for set of 3 around an yea ago through an OZb deal. They are of great quality. Still using them

  • "Circulon Style"…. So what brand are they?

    • +1

From the looks it's brand Circulon and the type is Style.

      • +4

hahaha really? I haven't looked, but that seems like a huge marketing error there…I'd expect to see this sort of title on aliexpress lol

    • Just like a genuine Circulon.. only more stylish

  • +1

We got the similar Circulon set from Myers for $99 probably 5 years ago and 2 out of the 3 are good as new. The one which has lost its non stick was nuked by someone trying to char corn kernels, (if only they'd used the cast iron pan next to it in the pot drawer)

It looks like they've upgraded the handles as the previous set had rubber coatings which weren't very happy under the grill while these are rated to 260C and appear to have steel handles

Best advice I can give anyone looking for a set of these is to avoid Peter's of Kensington like the plague. Literally had to set NSW Fair Trading on them to get a refund on an item I never even took delivery of (via their ebay site, which had incorrect stock levels). Took months and a lot of effort and they were so dodgy about it at every step of the process. A quick google search shows that's pretty standard for them when it comes to refunds too by the way.

      Hi BoundedRationality,
We would send you an email if there is an issue with your order before we dispatch it with options on how to proceed.
One of these options would always include a refund.

      • +1

I went to pick up in store. I would happily post up all of the details here, including the details in the complaint to NSW Fair Trading if you'd like? Or perhaps I can just link to some of the feedback others have left publicly too? I could show the list of calls I made and emails I sent that went unanswered? The eBay messages perhaps? Didn't think so.

        • Thank goodness for Peters and Victoria's Basement

If it wasn't for those 2 businesses we would be getting robbed blind by the other businesses selling cookware in Australia.

They have done for cookware what Aldi have done for basic groceries

      • +3

        Rookie PR move.

Instead of trying to resolve or make the customer's experience more positive, you just told them they were wrong.

Think if they could solve it without involving fair trading they would have.

        Astounding!

I purchased the Circulon Infinite Hard Anodised Cookware Set, 5 Piece for $259 back in Nov-2012… all but one fry pan is actually still going well… the middle of the fry pans are much darker now (most likely due to overheat/frying) and the one that is no good does have some of the non-stick starting to peal so that's going in the bin now but I've been VERY impressed by these pans… 9+ years usage and 4 out of the 5 are still good (all the pots are in fantastic condition).. personally I would recommend them if it's the same quality as back in 2012!

I have this exact set, have had it for 2 years.

Frypans get daily use. Still in good nick and non-stick surface is excellent.

We do have small felt pads we put between each pan when storing in the cupboard drawer - protects the surface from dings.

I wouldn't buy any other brand.

  • These are OK for the price, had mine for about 4 years. The non-stick isn't great so they need a soak after pretty much anything. Obviously the RRP is laughable!

You just cannot go past Kmart Anko 4 layer non stick frypans. 28cm is $16 and 32cm is $20. Absolute bargains. Use our 32cm very often and it’s still as non-stick as it was 15 months ago when purchased.
