Is Shining Pearl 10 dollar less good

    • +1

The only difference, as far as I know, is the legendary Pokemon.

    • +10

      Diamonds cost more

    • i doubt amazon factored this in when pricing, but poketubers do say diamond has the better version exclusives.

    • +1

      nope, just less popular version

its the same game with minor differences

    • +1

Different exclusives, you can trade all of them anyway so really nothing different

I have been told this a horrible port from the DS ..just a FYI

    • +3

Oh, but Arceus is amazing once you spend the first hour slugging through a boring learning process and shit story.

      • Upvoted on both counts - it's the game that kids who played Blue and Red in the 90s envisaged what a 3d game would be like… once it actually lets you play.

    • +2

I've heard that, but honestly I loved it - definitely a direct upgrade from the DS version in almost every way, just not as good as it could've been if they'd included some quality of life changes from newer games. 9/10 would recommend if you've got time and you enjoyed the originals.

      • +2

I enjoyed the original Pearl but really disappointed in the remake.

    • +1

It’s not horrible, but there’s not enough changes compared to the other remakes. It doesn’t even have the changes from Platinum.

Saw the Harvey Norman sale but I've vowed to never spend a cent there. Glad amazon price matched! Cheers :)

You feel better supporting a company that steals workers tips, makes its workers urinate in bottles, and abuses data on its platform to clone the most profitable products its sellers have?

      • +13

Take down Jerry first, then worry about Jeff

        • Haha i mean I'd just buy from ebay/jb/eb. Generally I can get a price match off jb, or within a few bucks.

  • +3

    Arceus over both.

Pearl if you want legendary birds + Lugia

Diamond if you want legendary dogs + ho oh

    • +4

      Diamond because Arcanine best doggo!

  • +1

So tempted but I'm not even done with Sword…

    • Get it! this is cheaper than what they're up for on Facebook marketplace.
      Thanks OP.

  • Lol all the comments about the game being used because it was unsealed. Nintendo is so hit and miss on what gets sealed and what doesn’t.

My Arceus which was $69 came from a supply behind the counter and was unsealed.

Still uhmming and arring on whether to return it to get the my $11 back or not. Just need to get there first and petrol being expensive would eat into that $11 and time as well.

    • It's kind of annoying how UK/US games stay sealed but Australian ones don't.

The only ones that do are some third party ones.

It would be nice to not have to deal with the chance of getting a scratched up game case whenever I buy online.

  • Is there a good reason Pearl is considered worse/less popular? $10 less seem bit wild for Nintendo/Pokemon games.

    • Everyone loves the legendary dogs…

    • I think historically the "first" version is more popular. i.e Diamond and Pearl, Red and Blue.

Taking a guess, since this is price matching Harvey Norman maybe they had more stock of Pearl and wanted to even it out?

      • Quite Certain Blue sold more than Red. Same with Silver over Gold.

        • Huh, my mistake then.

        • I'd be shocked if Blue outsold Red

Japan had Red/Green as their two versions with Blue coming out later, most would have bought Red

          • @freoleo: i can only find US data, but Blue was higher there was like 4m vs 3.5m

            • @ONEMariachi: Yeah and Japan didn't have blue until years later, so Red would have outsold it by a lot worldwide
