…and how is this a deal exactly?

Other websites are selling for around the same price. This is just shameless advertising.

    where's the Bargain?

    $217 Elsewhere

  • Survival is the bargain

This is a stupid product if I ever saw one.

And as per other comment, same price elsewhere. No bargain.

Also Expansys are PS5 and XSX scalpers and should be banned from OzBargain. In fact the number of downvotes versus upvotes for their previous deals are higher.

    PlayStation 5 (Digital) $1,234.99
    PlayStation 5 (Blu-Ray) $1,397.37
    Xbox Series X Console $1,129.99

    Crap price, crap company.

Pathetic company that does not belong here. Scalpers should be permabanned.

  • In what way is this a bargain?

  • No Bargain, feels like advertising site

  • There was another seller at this price, but they're now $215. I bought it and put this review on the LG site:

This is simply too small for the western body. I'm 178cm tall and have a fairly average sized nose. The mask comes with the Large sized silicone shield (there is an even smaller one) that is simply too small. If I keep my mouth closed it barely covers my nose and the sides of my mouth and the end of my nose hits the interior.

I think it's also designed for small lungs, as the outlet port is too small and prevents easy exhalation from the mask, so it gets hot and humid inside. Set on Auto the software doesn't run the fans fast enough even though they speed up when you breathe in they just can't keep up with my lung capacity (the Auto setting needs to have a variable option) . You can set it on a fixed higher speed (there is the option of Off, Auto, Low, Medium & High), but this makes the fans do strange things and really saps the battery life.

The voice speaker thing works well. However even set on Auto without using the voice option there's no way you'd get 8 hours out of the battery. Maybe a bit over half that. If you set the fan higher and use the voice speaker count on only an hour or two. Which means you'd need to lug around a power bank on your person plugged into it to keep it going for any longer, as it's quite slow to recharge.

Another huge issue is filters - cost & availability. I'm in Australia and bought it off a Hong Kong seller. I really wanted it for a flight to Europe. The mask has 2 tiny HEPA filters (40x40x8mm) and a flat 'cover' layer inside of surgical mask like material. The HEPA filters are supposed to last a month at 6-8 hours a day use. The 'covers' are meant to be changed daily. Included with the mask are only the initial 2 HEPA filters and 15 covers.

I've seen the filters for sale in Hong Kong for A$17.50 a set (and that seems a lot given how small they are). A 30 pack of covers the same amount. So that's A$35 a month. However only some of the places that sell the mask also sell the filters and covers, so you'll likely have to buy them separately and pay a fortune in freight to get them (like US$50 just for 1 months set!). It works out at about A$90 for 1 months supply! If you buy 6 months worth it works out at A$76 per month!

    So come on LG -
    1. make a westerner sized face mould.
    2. make filters & covers cheaper and readily available.
    3. improve battery life & recharge speed.
