I feel like I'm spending too much money on watches and waaaaay too much time researching them. Today I spotted the rather nice looking Seiko Tortise in black for a nice price, a diver style watch with 200 m water resistance and automatic movement the black tortoise is listed at $815 on Amazon.

        The best bargains at the moment is Boctok watches from you know where. But because of the conflicts snail mail could take 6 months to deliver. It’s why I can’t post a deal here for fear of people thinking I’m supporting their economy and downvoting. But I doubt a few pieces of watches will help them. Plus Vostok is unrelated to what’s happening conflict wise and it’s a bargain to be had at the moment.

        I ordered a 581884 dress watch yesterday from Vostokinc for $74.07AUD using apple pay after delivery and bank exchange rate, the lowest the RUB currency was. Don’t pay in USD by the way items are cheaper in Rubles. You could opt for fast 2-3 week DHL shipping with Meranom store but they jacked the prices on their watches. It’s a big risk to Seik-out this bargain because of the whats happening, I wouldn’t risk it. Big reason why I don’t want to share this deal for fear of downvoters and the current conflict.

        Edit: There’s my first downvote. It’s why I shy away from posting a Vostok deal. But my one is controversial.

      Can get quite a few micro brands and homages for the Price of one Seiko, which is usually worse specs (Hollow end links, not saphire crystal, old movements etc. They do nice faces and hands though, and lume is usually better.

        There's a reason why Seiko has been around for decades and why many other brands source their parts and movements from them. I personally don't think Seiko is that expensive because they deliver excellent value but it does depend on the watch, the price and the buyer.

          Agree, depends on the particular watch and Price, still a great brand and heritage, just depends, some are overpriced and riding on the Brand.

          Nothing Wrong with their movements and love the NH35 for an affordable reliable workhorse in non Seiko watches.

    With Seiko's trademark ever so slightly offset markers. First watch I've seen on here that I like in a while though. Not buying it - saving for a fancy one.

        They just don't have the quality control to ensure the bezels line up tho the chapter rings etc. You may get lucky

      Yeah that sort of date window triggers my ocd. Can't do it. Just can't bring myself to buy a watch with it angled like that. Thats a no for me.

    I hate this watch. Perfect size personally and the design overall is good. The leather bracelet went as soon as I got it, just a very cheap and nasty watch band. Stainless bracelet from Strapcode on the way.

    Other things I might change is the compass bezel insert. Just not a fan of that design, would rather a standard diver insert. And a domed sapphire crystal would be great too.

      Agree, none of the watch makes sense, sounds like you want more if a classic divers. I've got this one and think it's great. Quite frankly they should omit the date than have it in an awkward position. Classics don't include it usually but I'm fine with that.
      Or just look for a more standard diver from citizen, orient (or Seiko)

        I like the mini turtle shape and size fits me well. Just needs a few changes to it which thankfully is available in the modding community.

        I have a few divers similar to that Pagani Design though.

          Agree, i also like the look and size of the mini turtle, don't see them on sale much here though.
          The steeldive is pretty good I got.. anything like the SK007 basically :D

          The whole modding of Seikos is pretty cool, I looked at all the parts and stuff and in theory could build an upgraded SKX007 from scratch but would cost a bit too much ($700)

          The watch in this post, I'd change the face, bezel, band

          I actually like the Steeldive face, pretty similar styling & applied indicies, fantastic lume, date at 3 o'clock. can't really complain at all.
