Deal original found on Australian Lego fan blog Brickingaround. Stated to end at 10pm 4 March:

1,106 pieces translates to 13.5 cents / piece. It’s expensive for a Lego Creator Expert set, considering you can get the 1,471 pieces Creator Expert Ford Mustang for the same price ($150) at Kmart. But it’s still a sale I guess. Enjoy.

UPDATE —> Just realised Kmart has it for the same price. Probably a better option than Zavvi:

Zavvi ship from the UK. Higher risk of damage. And you may get a euro box that has punch outs rather than tape.

Agreed. Kmart is the better option.

Yeah, don't risk it. Recently received a parcel from the UK, it was partially opened and a bit tatty.

    • Or… everything will be fine. Like all of my orders from Zavvi (about 15 at this point) and the orders placed by countless other OzBargain members who've bought from them over the years.

As I've repeatedly stated, probably a hundred times by now, the OzBargain community is quite good at weeding out notoriously unscrupulous vendors and if Zavvi really was shipping every single order damaged, then they'd be blacklisted by now.

We constantly buy countless other goods that originate from overseas, whether it's through eBay and Amazon sellers, AliExpress, Banggood or other Chinese marketplaces, and you don't see people constantly b*tching on every eBay or AliExpress deal about how overseas vendors might send you a damaged box ffs.

I mean, you do realise Australia is an island and manufactures virtually nothing? How do you think most of the items in your home got there?

On top of that, you also do realise that Zavvi aren't a courier and don't handle the shipping of your order?
Most of the blame over these alleged damaged orders probably lays with the various couriers that are handle them in transit anyway.

      • If the price was great sure, but the price is poor and Zavvi masquerade as an Aussie retailer so most buyers don’t realise their stuff is shipping from the UK.

      • Oh and as to your clever comment about us being an island and most things being sent from overseas;

You do realise that goods are palletised by the manf or distributor for bulk delivery to our shores, this well protected. It’s only the local leg that is a single carton, which is where the risk is.

Zavvi by contrast ship individual cartons straight from the UK. Higher risk of damage. Also, not so easy to resolve returns compared to Amazon or Aussie brick and mortar retailers.

Zavvi can therefore only compete on price and since shutting aussies out of their US store last year, prices aren’t great.

And I too have ordered lots of stuff from Zavvi.

        • My experience with zavvi has been bad, wouldn't risk it.

  • Definitely time to cash in the $100 Wish card I got from LG for reviewing our G1 - $159 delivered at BigW

  • https://buildandplay.com.au/product/lego-10298-confidential/ - $140 here but $12.08 shipping to Melbourne.

Hopefully it pops up on Amazon for $140 shortly!

    • I suspect it's going to be heavily discounted largely because this got flooded to every single retailer.

  • Check out myhobbies.

    • Or better, wait for decent discounts. Set is new, discounts are stingy.

Anyone wants to buy from Zavvi, read the product review first. https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/zavvi
With 1.5 star rating, you are pretty much guaranteed to be screwed by this worst LEGO seller on the market.

    • Yes I got burned, wish I read the review. Don't know why they are still allowed in ozbargain given all the trouble people have.
