    Driver issues?

    • -7

AMD cards are renowned for driver issues

      • +24

Time to let go of those old views

      • +1

nvidia is the worst when it comes to drivers on linux

even on windows AMD are well ahead these days

        • -7

          nobody cares about Linux

          • @maybe a bot: linux is amazing - once you use something like zorin you'll wonder why you ever bothered with windows for so long

man, honestly, i kind of feel bad for you, but hey, ignorance is bliss

            • -1

@desync: none of my applications working without tweaking, shitty hardware support, and the worst audio of any operating system is definitely bliss

if i want unix i'll run macos, cheers

      • +2

        Agree,
I spent months trying to get mine working before returning it for an NVIDIA which worked first go no dramas!

      • Last time I heard that about AMD cards I think we were all playing Unreal Tournament 2000.

    • +7

While there has historically been driver issues, I'm yet to have any with my 6800xt. May not be a big issue in this current generation?

      • +12

AMD haven't had "driver issues" for years and years. It's just left over hangups from Nvidia fanboys who for some reason, think that anyone else cares.

        • -3

mate Im currently using 5700xt and driver issues keeps flogging each time they have an update. mostly but not all the time.
they do fixes it releasing another update but the experience is horrible. maybe 6000s cards are much stable but still the 5000s are amds
thats why im jumping back to nvidia this year. sucks i expected better from amd

          • @white3knight: Never had a problem with my 5600xt.

          • @white3knight: Same here….for the first time in over 15 years I'm considering going back to Nvidia. I can't deal with the black screen issues any more. The price difference used to make up for the random black screens, but I think after all the years of having the same issues I can't be bothered any more. I keep hearing that the grass is greener with Nvidia so off I go…when the prices drop a little bit more :P

            • @Tardvark: Coz they are the Green team haha. Yeah hopefully you find a good card at a good price too

        • For me I haven't had any issues with AMD drivers but I definitely think that Nvidia's driver settings and UI are much easier and cleaner. I'd prefer Nvidia compared to AMD if given the choice but there's obviously other factors such as price/performance of different cards that matter too.

    • +2

Yeah I'm in Sydney I can confirm that

    • +1

I stopped my AMD cards a decade back due to this and Nvidia worked out much better driverwise. If things have changed since that's great, but don't need the hassle of finding out.

    • +2

I have the RX6800xt and I was told many times that AMD had drivers issues and put me in doubt of buying one. To those people I say Shut the F up… My graphic card outperforms the RTX3080..

      • +2

That's the exact card I'm waiting for, I completely agree!

  • +1

The OC version of this card is $699 at BPC. I have been agonising over buying one or not.

    • +1

Whats the difference? Can I tell from 1080p gaming?

      • Tiny bit of extra performance but nothing of any real significance. For your reference, this card (non OC) is out of stock at BPC but it's selling for $679.

        • And what's the difference between this and Ti?
Which is the best version to get and which is the worst/lowest specs?

          • @Exprise: 3060ti is a complete different card (made from the same die used in 3070/ti).

3060ti is much faster than 3060 although it lacks vram (8gb compared to 12gb)

However the price of 3060ti is also higher, currently around $1000 mark. It would be ideal if 3060ti price goes down to $700-$800 mark (about RRP).

            Hopefully not too long now

            • @Bappy: Absolutely correct, since 3070Ti already down to $1200 mark, can't see any value getting 3060Ti for still over $1k, seems 3070Ti price will come down even faster than 3060Ti

  • Getting closer to MSRP.

    Should be here https://au.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=12G-P5-3657-KR

    • -3

Is this not the US site? It has links to microcenter and Newegg.

      • +4

        no lol.
is has AU in the address and prices are MSRP AUD.

        • +3

Ah, right I missed that. Thanks.

      • When they first appeared last year they were that price. I skipped it at the time and then ended up buying a 3050 last month.

        • How much did you get your 3050 for?

          • @drinkin-beer: $429, right on launch from Scorptec (website, not Ebay), Zotac brand. Apparently Zotac have noise/heat issues on some of their cards but this one's been excellent so far.

            • @Shenannigoat: Nice, I have been eyeing this card on scorptec too but it hasn't come back in stock as far I can tell. The OC version came back in stock at $599 the other day but no luck on the $429 one.

              • +1

@drinkin-beer: I saw the OC when I got mine and thought the value was very poor compared to the non-OC. But they didn’t last long at $429. Good luck with your search.

    • lol why do they even bother having a RRP if resellers choose to be dogs

      • Typically the actual retail price is lower than RRP

  • -3

Meh so uninspiring compared to the $631 3060ti deal 16 months ago. I am hodl

    • +7

Creating new accounts just to tell people to Hodl….

      Lol new low.

      • Keep up the good work soldier 👍

      • agreed, he making new accounts to say HODL because not brave enough to use the main account and get negged.

        Truly a new low.

        • Dunno what you brats are on about. But not surprised so many miners with vested interests downvoted my comment (because they advocate for high gpu prices). You and your other non-lhr account can enjoy the values of your gpu's plummeting.

  • +1

    HOLD

  • This or 6600xt ?

    • Neither. Both still heavily overpriced and we're 70% through the life of this gen.
