Aluminium - not suitable for washing in the dishwasher.

Based on personal experience, when it comes to pressure cookers, aluminium is easier (when compared to stainless steel) to temper spices without burning them. I have a similar 3L version to this and it is our go to for lamb curries.

Because of the moisture in the pressure cooker its easy to wash by hand, I haven't even bothered to put my non-stick electric pressure cooker pot in the dishwasher as it's big and all it takes is a wipe

Agree with you… I have this same Futura pressure cooker. It was so Glossy & Shiny, used few months in dishwasher, it is MATT BLACK now lol.

These have always frightened me to the point that cooking with them is enough of a stressful experience that even the tastiest food can't make up for it.
Irrational, probably, and likely stemming from the old school pressure cookers my family used to use with zero safety features. But I still stand by not loving having a pressure vessel bubbling away a meter away from me.

    • Just get an electric one then, some places have them as cheap as 50 bucks (aldi/post office)

  • If the budget can be stretched more, Foodi Ninja FTW.

  • Depending on what you are cooking 4L may be too small, eg. You won't fit a lamb shoulder, or maybe even shanks will be too long. If you are doing risottos or casserole type of meals then it might be better to have a small one if you arent feeding a whole family or don't like leftovers

  • I like all Futura products. Reputed, well built, last forever and most importantly they do what they are marketed to do. My kitchen is full of future products. p.s. I love these as much as I love my Lodge products. Different purpose but same trust level.

We got stainless steel Tefal 6l from Amazon for $70 few years back and it is wonderful. We originally bought it only for big cuts of meat but now we cook a lots of other things in it. Pasta and Rice gets done really quick in pressure cooker.

    • Keen on steel but unsure how it would look in a few years with stains from a gas cooktop? Inside could be similar depending on the type of food you cook.

HELLO10 (@KitchenWarehouse) gives additional $10 off (but must spend over $100), so add a packet of serviettes or something small (also gives free shipping then)

I am using the same model since last 6-7 years. Its good and hard anodised. Easy to clean.
