Kobo eBook Store - 90% off and $10 off Coupons

510
welcome90us/welcome10us

Found these coupons over at the Mobileread forums.

Coupon codes "welcome90us" and "welcome90ca" (without the quotes) each give 90% off the price of a single ebook.

Coupon codes "welcome10us" and "welcome10ca" (without the quotes) each give $10 off the price of a single ebook.

These codes can be used on any "non-agency" books (generally able to be identified by having both a "List price" and "Our price", rather that just a "Price").

Not sure of expiration date, but they have been working for at least 4 days.

EDIT: Extra coupon codes (all one-time use only):

Coupon codes "welcome75us" and "welcome75ca" (without the quotes) each give 75% off the price of a single ebook.

Coupon codes "welcome5us" and "welcome5ca" (without the quotes) each give $5 off the price of a single ebook.

hmm. Seems like the code can only be applied once per account. I used welcome90us and decided to get another book but the code wasn't valid anymore. So i tried welcome90ca and it worked! So fill your basket up to the brim cause you can only take 2 trips. ;)

  • Hmmm DRM ePub? Is it possible to get this onto a Kindle?

    • Not sure but the Windows program Calibre is excellent at transferring formats.

    • +6

Once you purchase the book you can download it from the website by logging in to your account. This will give a .acsm file that you can open/download with adobe digital editions. You can then use calibre to remove the drm, convert it to mobi to put on your kindle. Sounds bit complec but it isnt too hard

      • +1

You will also need to have tools installed for calibre to remove DRM

      • Awesome, thanks!

Good one downloaded the Android Kobo app then grabbed a $17.95 book I have been wanting for $1.80

  • These were listed in the previous bargain earlier this week http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/67878
Note there is also the codes
Welcome75ca and Welcome75us for 75% off and welcome50us, welcome50ca for 50% and welcome5us and welcome5ca for $5 off all one use only all off non agency books only and may expire at any time

Searching for bundles to use them on gives you the best bang for buck.

Also note that the $5 and $10 ones can only be used on books that are over $5 and $10

  • They have some textbooks, and cookbooks too. Nice

Please put eBooks in the title. I was excited until I realised it was an eBook site

  • You could apply them to the Hunger games trilogy, Jo Nesbo Trilogy, Lisa Jackson Bundle. Some books by popular authors that have some non agency titles are James Patterson, Michael Connelly, Donna Leon,Diana Gabaldon, Karin Slaughter, Grisham, Robert Harris, Lincoln Child, Kathy Reichs

  • Thank you so much, I just bought 4 books from the store, 3 of them are bundles lol

  • Thanks, nice. Grabbed a couple

  • When I add a book to the cart, I get taken to the checkout. If I go back and add another book, the first one is removed.

Can you only buy one book at a time with Kobo?

    Thanks!!!!!

You can only buy one book at at a time at Kobo

      • Thanks. Someone above had advised to load up and that was what I had hoped to do. Now I actually have to think about it.

  • I keep on getting that the publisher doesn't allow promo codes :(

As per the OP pick books that have 2 prices listed List Price/Our Price also books with pricing not ending in 99c are often non agency.

  • amazing deal. i just tried to find a book and it's only available in the US. Is there any way of buying this book, even though im using an Australian credit card? For interest, it was this book i was wanting to buy….http://www.kobobooks.com/ebook/The-Art-Non-Conformity-Set/book-gy9QUwRvfUCDeHlAAlsKLQ/page1.html

If you have (a) a second email address, and (b) access to a US proxy, you can set up an account on the US site. (The URL is the same, but which "store" you see depends on your geographic location.)

Interestingly, it appears that it is only necessary to use the proxy when setting up the account. When you next visit the site, although the Australian store initially appears, once you sign in with the US account details the prices / books will change to those from the US store.

An Australian credit card can be used on the US store (as can Paypal).

      • YOU ARE THE BEST WOMAN/MAN EVER. I do have access to a US proxy and i'll let everyone know how i go. Thank you.

        • +3

That would probably be best LAWMAN ever.

      • Good to know I had thought it would be harder that that I may be tempted to give it a go next time round Thanks. Also note if you do manage to use a US account I'm pretty sure the Song of Fire and Ice trilogy is non agency in that region value would be good if you apply the coupon.
Come to think of it you would get double the coupons if you ran and account in each region.win!

      • Damn! It didn't work. I created a new account using a US proxy (i know this works cos i pay for it), and that same book isn't available…are you able to view this link in your web browser with your US Kobo account? http://www.kobobooks.com/ebook/The-Art-Non-Conformity-Set/bo…

        • +1

It could be that it's available in one of the other regions Kobo run several for example it could be in the UK store but not US or Aust.

        • +1

I helped you to look into the link using US-proxy and managed to enter the link, but it is restricted from using coupon code. You need to pay full $12 something

"Due to publisher restrictions Promo codes are not allowed for this product."

  • Wow - great find. Thanks OP!

  • purchased 4 or 5 books i been hanging for already. Wait till i get home :)

  • HI,
Can the peeps that bought bundles tell us what you bought. I used one 90% code for the hunger games trilogy and want to make good use of my other 90% code.

    • One set that was mentioned over at mobilereads was by Ted Dekker got no idea what its like

FYI you can also purchase a lot of textbooks. I just purchased a £90 textbook for my wife for £9. Glad i didn't have to shell out full price.

    • Great! Is she allowed to use it in that format?

I just got back from Asia and I had a Lonely Planet Guidebook on my kindle and it was pretty difficult to use.

  • Sweet, $148 textbook for $14.80. :-)

    • I was hoping to get a textbook that was that price too but I was too slow. Perhaps it was the same textbook? Harrison's?

  • If I buy a book from the kobo site I should be able to run it on my Sony eReader right? It said something about DRM and I'm not really sure how that works with ereaders. Thanks.

  • thanks i bought Water for Elephants and Shiver

  • Guys - can you preview a book? Whenever i click on preview - it saying the book is added to my library. In my library only showing the same details of the book if i click on it?

  • Trying to apply a promo code but it's saying "This promotion is not active" for all of them. Is it actually over? :(

  • I'm doing something wrong. None of the codes are not working for me

I have picked a $10.70 book - tired the $10 off or 90% off code - no luck

  • Aww, I was wanting to buy a textbook but the stoopid site won't let me sign into my account :(
