Supercheap will price match the oil.

Combined with the free $10 credit, $7.99 is pretty cheap for this oil.

    • what free $10 credit?

      • +2

it was a targeted offer :)

    • They will price match but it doesn't detract from the deal being good value.

    • I was unable to price match with super cheap.
“Unfortunately, we are unable to price beat this item as it is unavailable for click and collect and delivery on the competitor's website.
For the price match to be eligible, it needs to be currently available for purchase on the competitor's website.”

Great price on the oil, thanks OP!

Good Price. Does this oil match a high mileage Corolla? Thanks

    • +1

It's fine for anything 2002 onwards, just not the current models.

  • Can anyone click and collect the oil?

Website doesn't give me the option.

I believe it's an instore only offer, forcing you to come in store.

I've seen plenty at 2 stores local to me in NSW.

      • Cheers!

    Very nice, I like it.
Owning 3 VAG’s, I need all them oils

    • +1

You really shouldn't put oils that aren't recommended. VAG's are super finnicky.

      • vw 502/505 meets my spec?, I’ve used gulf oils for top ups without issues

        • You might need a wooooosh

My wife said never to put oil in her VAG. Gotta use the correct lubricant.

      • 5w30 Castrol edge is recommended on this forum

        • +1

Probably the 'worst' oil to use, burns the quickest in my turbo and supercharged engine.

Whatever is approved works, I use Lube molly for oil services and then whatever oil is on special that is compliant.

      • Vulvoline is OK for top ups between servicing.

        • I prefer Vulvaline myself. My piston loves it and it doesn't burn.

          • +2

@JimB: Not only that, you virtually eliminate bore wear, piston blow-by and a worn out ring.

            • @cushydeskjob: Too true.

We all prefer a snug bore, nothing worse than a worn bore.

  • Oh yeah! 5L of good FS oil for $7.99! Price match at supercheap auto and there was a $10 credit that I didn't know about in membership account.

    • Full synthetic for sales/advertising purposes only, it's a group 3 oil. Only group 4 and 5 oils are considered full synthetics but Castrol won a court case to call group 3 oils full synthetic on their labels so every other motor oil company jupped onboard, that's why there is so many cheap "full synthetics" these days. You won't find a real full synthetic (group 4/5) oil for much less than $80-100+ for 5L.

  • Is this as fully synthetic as the Castrol Edge or the Castrol Magnatec? I can never quite remember the different level of fully syntheticness

    • It's group 3, not a real full synthetic.
