Are these blue lights for checking out the dna in motel rooms?

  • +6

Read a lot about these, and no scientific evidence that they help! Else I'd be on it.

Are you sure you are not associated with this site OP? The founder of the site/company happens to have the exact same name as your username?

For those wondering, the post didn't originally note the OP as associated and was removed for sock-puppeting.

I bought 2 of these cheap "blue light filter" glasses from eBay a few months ago. They are just clear glasses and I only wore them once. waste of money.
These blue light glasses are just another marketing gimmick. There's no way to prove the filtering..

I've spent hundreds of dollars trying to find a good pair of computer glasses, and the only ones I find useful are the deep amber lenses. They actually block blue light, such that if you look to a blue object through the lens it will appear black. They're not cheap but the ones posted here are basically garbage.

      • It's questionable whether you get any benefit from blocking blue light but the blue blockers on William Painter give everything a reddish shade presumably because they're blocking blue light.

If you're interested in Blue light glasses, try a pair from amazon or ebay first for under $20. There is no science behind it. I work in optom and can say straight up most people don't notice it helps at all, some say it helps, ultimately just suggests it's placebo.

The whole Blue light thing is bunk, but they could be repurposed as welding goggles for politicians doing photo-ops.
