  • I've had issues with Yale smart products in the past, including the front door randomly unlocking in the night. A friend had the same experience. We both removed the wifi chip. I seriously hope these issues have been resolved.

    • Hi mate, I really want to hear abt this issue cause im using one, what is your experience? Have you tried to contact them? Im using the unity version

      • It was an older model, so hopefully resolved. Yale 084384 YRD110ZW619 Push Button Z-Wave. I don't believe it was an issue with my z-wave controller, but that can't be ruled out. In the end, as the door didn't auto close, it just wasn't worth the risk or shock in the night. Yes, emailed the US support (no AU support at the time) and got the usual BS responses (reset, etc.). They didn't help. After I pulled the z-wave chip out, no more issues, of course.

I have this lock, this keypad and wifi plug…. I haven't had any issues of random unlocking

      • as it should be! Hopefully a problem with old z-wave models.

Ah no wonder I couldn't unlock it anymore :)

Just beware that this is not a lock, just a keypad and you need to buy the lock separately

  • I didn’t have much of a good experience with yale unity lock, kept jamming
JB HI FI were nice and returned without fuss

  • I had the August version of this for some time (Yale purchased August and this looks like a rebadge). Personally it was one of the most annoying smart products I’ve used and it was super unreliable in terms of recognising codes and would constantly need battery replacements. Not what you want for your door lock. We ended up swapping out the August lock and the keypad for an integrated lock + keypad combo all in one device and it’s been infinitely better.

Maybe the hardware has been improved since I purchased it though, I don’t know.

  • I’m running the Lockwood version with iM1 module, touch wood it’s been spot on, opening door via automation or asking my watch is pretty cool…

    Ymmv

iM1 modules come up on eBay US pretty frequently

  • I have the Yale Unity Entrance. A couple of weeks in had no problems up until the alarms kept going off for no reason - tried doing reset, troubleshooting until I contacted customer service. I took it apart and did a hard reset since then I have had no problems. I use the connect hub too- works flawlessly now.
