Hi all, just need a printer that can do multiple page scanning & little color printing from time to time.
Had an HP Officejet Pro 8630, but the printhead broke just after 4 years, and cost as much as a new printer to replace (or lack thereof), so decided to just buy new one.
Why must do laser? I hardly print color though. If laser, what would be your recommendation ?

get a brother mono laser. any colour printing - go to officeworks. cost of going to officeworks will be cheaper than getting a colour laser + toners.

If you don't print much get a laser. Inkjets clog up when they're underused.

I say Continuous Ink, Continuous Ink, Continuous Ink….
Inkjet print heads can sometimes be fixed if the ink has gummed up the printing by buying some Demineralised Water and soak the head it in overnight and then let it dry for a few days. There are quicker ways on the net on how to unclog a print head.
I have done this once and got another three years out of the printer before the paper mechanism stuffed up.
Buy a laser printer and you'll smile every time you print something out. A Brother laser is the way to go.
Generic toners from eBay are just as good as OEM toners.
Inkjets still use some colour for their black and white printing, its infuriating.

Spill some other colours and it's not a disaster - it's art!
I have Brother MFC 9320CW (Tonner, color with Wifi capability), and MFC 8880DN (Tonner, B&W with networking capability (aka make it wireless by connecting to wifi modem))
Both were bought from marketplace for very cheap, i think like around <$50 ish something. Both been very good. Highly recommend going 2nd hand brother MFC printers. But be careful of replacing tonners i would recommend keeping genuine brother tonners (buy them from marketplace or somewhere for a cheap price too instead of buying fake generic non branded tonners)
Anything that has cheap 3rd party Ink, which is rare these deals.
Epson Ecotanks are very cheap to run, however a blk laser (as already suggested) would be your best bet, especially if you can refill it yourself.
what about a black laser that does duplex printing?
dont think that is possible for 200 and color
