    Why put an insulated container in the fridge?

      chill it overnight, so next evening i have chilled drink all evening.

        If you leave the lid open, sure. Otherwise it would chill very slow.

        I bought this on Prime Day, filled it with boiling water around 6pm, and at 8am next morning the water was still steaming hot. And I regularly add 6-8 ice cubes to cold water in the morning and still have ice clinking around inside at 4pm. So I think being in the fridge won’t make a lot of difference

  chill tea o/n in glass, will chill faster and colder then transfer to carafe
