BACK IN STOCK

This is RRP but posting for those interested as it's available for order and has been difficult to find.

I believe you need to order an accessory with it, if you don't want it ask Microsoft for a refund prior to shipping.

I selected the basic white controller, continued with an error message, somehow got to check out, payment option for $749 without any accessory included…

  • Damn, even MS is bundling stuff you don’t want at full RRP with the Series X

Bit of a scum move for a major company to force you to buy an accessory

    • I actually think the accessory is an error as it says starts at $749.

Not an error, they did the same thing few weeks ago

Just taking advantage of those that want an Xbox

        • +2

They sometimes do this to confuse the scalper bots also.

    Boo-urns.

    Still not getting one then!

  • since when did M$ copy Gamesmen?

  • $20 off shopback challenge.

  • 10% cashback on GCs with SB, not sure if paying with GCs is still good for cashback on purchases though.

    • yes, you can use GC

Already dispatched… Delivery expected Monday… Happy chappy

  • its actually not bad they bundle with an extra controller.
official MS controller has been out of stock everywhere for the past wks (maybe months)…

    • I couldn't find one anywhere last weekend (EB Games / BigW / JB Hifi), so I ordered one on Sunday from the Microsoft store online and it was delivered yesterday. Can't complain with that.

  • OOS

  • Telstra has stock.

  • I want a ps5 but may have to settle for an xb…. sad. Is stock for ps5 flowing better now?

  • Damn, I was contemplating this yesterday but decided against it for the forced extra accessory.

But now realise after discounted gift cards/cashback you could get an extra controller for (almost) "free".

    Oh well, next time!

  • Missed again.

Thanks OP, I was nearly forced to buy the Series S as I was losing hope of ever finding an X.

On its way but it's going to take until next Friday to get to WA.

Just an update in regards to the Xbox Series X order (and for any future drops from Microsoft where you have to buy an accessory with a console), in my case I tried talking to support about refunding the accessory but they said it is in an included bundle HOWEVER once it arrives, there is no issue whatsoever with returning the accessory for a full refund at all.

Support from Microsoft is super helpful. My agent at least did assure me he also thinks it is to confuse automated scalping bots. I don't think the logic has been inbuilt in to the bots yet (or at least the developers haven't built in use cases yet) for a required accessory.

    Summary:

Order Xbox and accessory from Microsoft —-> Once arrives, initiate refund of just accessory —-> Send back and get full refund of accessory.

It was also shipped the next day using DHL Express from Melbourne, so should arrive NSW (at least to my major city that isn't Sydney) within 3 business days.
