Don't like you chance of JB matching ebay, especially with coupons

    • Yeah true, JB can be picky

  • +2

I grabbed the console only for $640 on EB Games eBay yesterday…
Now wondering — worth spending $70 more for this bundle? 🤔

    • +11

      …JustbuyitTOO! ;)

    • For a digital game code? Probably not. Should be able to get the physical game for that sooner or later. Depends on whether you think you'll get your money's worth out of the digital.

    • +2

      Game itself is over $100

      • $98.40 at Dicksmith or Kogan on ebay. Code JUNEOFY15

        • Still eBay we talking retail

    • All I can say is should have waited. $640 with no game u less you reusing your old switch games? $48.60 more with the above eBay giftcard and eBay plus trick bundle is likely the better one

  • -2

    Oled or no deal

    • +13

You're gonna be waiting a while. It was over 4 years between the Switch and Switch OLED.

      • It's 2025 and OLED's are everywhere. The OLED Switch 2 will come sooner than you think.

    • +36

meh, our switch spent 99% of its life in the dock

      • +14

Yeah same, I wish we could even by a screenless version of the console

        • +12

oh yeah that'd be perfect. give me a little box i can leave connected to the tv, take 200-300 off the price (no screen, no dock, no joycons). just a slot in the front for the games and some usb ports on the front/back and an ethernet port.

      • +2

my switch has never been docked :P but I have Xbox Series X and a PC lol

    • +3

      Same.

Happy to wait, so many good games on the Switch 1 catalogue and love the hand-held OLED experience.

      HODL until 2029 😅

    • +3

Hate to break it to you, but an OLED version of switch 2 may not happen any time soon or even at all. Nintendo targeting 120hz and very is the priority and the tech for VRR OLED displays isn't there yet to be reliable enough, and be mass produced for the mass units they will be shipping. There's a common known VRR flickering issue with OLED displays.

  • +9

Lol at the ATL comment. It's 9% off which can be beaten easily with the regular gift card discounts. You actually have to use the PLUSSS code and also buy tech swap cards to get to 10% off (the $10 postage undoes most of the tech swap benefit).

There have been several cheaper deals anyway, but certainly with caveats

  • -1

    Mwave sold cheaper last week

  • +1

ATL was sanity deal if it was honoured, but this is a great price still.

    • +1

The HN gift card deal worked out better for me personally

      • +1

I got the HN one, but now I have 76 dollars to spend and it's hard to find anything at a decent price.

    • +3

      sanity deal

Yup, it was honored indeed, received mine last week albeit didn't arrive on the launch day as they use regular parcel post delivery…

    • Was that cheaper than the Dick Smith one?

    • +1

It was honoured. I received the morning after the launch day. Pretty happy.

    • It was honoured, I received mine… albeit on the Tuesday after the launch.

    • +2

      ??

    • +18

      NES > SNES
GB > GBP > GBC > GBA > GBA SP
      DS > 3DS > 2DS
      WII > WII U

      • +4

Where's the DSi, New 3DS, and New 3DS XL oh no I've gone cross-eyed.

      • Switch >Switch 2
        PS5 > PS5 pro

        And the list goes on

      • +11

        PC > PC > PC

    • -5

      So SNES > Nintendo 64 ?

Theres nothing sequel about NES > SNES either.

      • -2

yeh i just noticed that this is the first something is called Some Consle 2. I have assumed the previous Wii's were variations and not their next generation of console. Just extending the life of the core product

        • -5

The WiiU was a full new console, however I don't blame you for not knowing that, as Nintendo deliberately ran deceptive ads where they pretended it was just a new controller for the original Wii. I'm not sure why they thought that was a good idea.

        • -3

I think its the first time there's a backward compatibiltiy though so I guess you can say that.

          • +2

@cmoddoo: the wii u could play wii games out of the box

        • +2

          Playstation > Playstation 2?

          • -4

            @theguyrules: I meant for Nintendo.
I haven't been a gamer for years. Not planning on buying one, was just wondering but getting lots of negative hate lol

            • @freestyle18: I mean naming wise I can see your point, yes. But most of their consoles have had backwards compatibility of some kind.

              • @theguyrules: Which Nintendo console other than Wii U and the new switch could play previous console discs/cartridges?

                • +4

@cmoddoo: The Wii could play GameCube games (originally).
The Game Boy Color could play Game Boy games.
The Game Boy Advance could play Game Boy and Game Boy Colour games.
The DS could play Game Boy Advance games (possible Game Boy+Game Boy Color, can't recall)
The 3DS could play DS games.

                  So, most.

                  • -4

@theguyrules: Ah ok, you bring in all the handhelds. Cool I don't count them as console if they can't be plugged to the TV.

I didn't know Wii could play gamecube games.

                    • @cmoddoo: I mean the handhelds are consoles. I think the only non backwards compatible home consoles have been the SNES and the GameCube.

        • +2

adding a 2 keeps it simple. switch was their second best selling console (behind DS) so why risk naming the switch 2 something else..

playstation has been using numbers for years and works

    • Congrats on the most braindead take of the day.

    • This thread has made me 10 cupboard doors dumber.

  • +1

Could someone please send me a screenshot of their checkout total price? I would love to lodge a price protect this card if possible. Thank you!

  • Good deal. But dont have eBay's pĺus.

    • +9

Nice, I don't have Netflix or Stan

    • +10

even if you dont - just buy a months worth for $4.99 and you'll get the bundle for $714.98 - then cancel it

      • Thanks for the tip! Didn't know you could pay month-to-month :)

    • +1

Just do the $5 monthly subscription during EOFY sale. It's only worth it during June. Cancel right after paying this month

  • Just the quick question, it is possible to price match with Eb game instore with this price?

    • +1

      Not likely.

  • thanks for posting! my ideal price was under $700 but $714 ($699.99 + $10 post + $4.99 for ebay plus for a month) - close enough for me.

    • +1

If you have a Macquarie bank account you can get the 3% Ebay gift cards which work very easily with the deal. Ends up being:
      688.60 for gift cards
      4.99 for ebay plus
693.59 total which gets it under $700

      • I was wondering about the Mac gift cards. About to pull the trigger but didn't know if there were issues using gift cards + code?

        • +3

Nope eBay gift cards work with promo codes. Just add the promo code first so you know the gift card balance needed.

Also FYI for others 3% eBay gift cards are available through Bupa Life Rewards

          • +4

@werdplaya58: $688.60 with the gift cards. Kids are going to lose it when they get this for school holidays.

            • @Alan Fartridge: Yup same as what I paid excellet deal, its the same as having cashback immedately. In this case eBay gift card costed 688.60 for $709.90 eBay Store Card

I even paid eBay plus this month just to get this and DJI Action 4 Pro lol

          • @werdplaya58: how do you checkout with eBay gift cards? I can't see any option on check out to pay using giftcards? are you saying you apply at the coupon code?

            • +1

@neonlight: I seem to recall the gift card code is entered in the same field as the coupon code. It'll allow both

              • @werdplaya58: You are correct I just did so and it works mate. Thanks heaps mate!

        • I also bought using the 3% off discounted gift cards from Bupa LifeRewards on top of this eBay Plus coupon - worked fine.

A few nervous moments hoping it didn't sell out as it took maybe 10 mins for the eBay gift cards to process and appear, otherwise fine.

      • not sure how you apply $4.99 ebay plus codes do not stack

        • +1

I think he's referring to the cost of signing up to eBay plus ( as you need it to use the PLUSSS code)

          • @werdplaya58: Ah I see the cost to get the deal with PLUSSS code under eBay plsu member, makes sense.
I wonder if you can sell t he Mario Kart world game coupon slightly less than the physical copy to get some more discount

If you make it $90 and sold it would be $688.60 - $90 that would be the cheapest Switch 2 you can get

  • I don't have plus but wanting to check whether the normal version without mario kart is also a good deal with this code. For this bundle ebay shows me $769.95 - $50 (PLUSS code) + $9.99 (shipping) = $729.9
How are you getting to $709.9?

    • Unlucky, looks like they have changed the discount from $70 down to $50.

      • You need eBay plus (PLUSSS) to get $70 off, non eBay plus (SSNOW) only $50

  • +8

    I’ll consider this at $549.

    • +1

      See you in 8 years

      • Hopefully in 4.

        • There was already a deal almost that good today, but missed that. $590 you probably wont be waiting years lol

          • +1

            @badjazy: RIP.
Will buy once a good special edition comes out

            • +1

@FujinShu: I can see it within a year or so, considering the $500 switch deal we juat had, I think a special eddition can go for $550 with a bundled game.

What edition are you looking for or just any?

  • +26

Each time I see a deal on the Switch 2 I remind myself that I don’t really want to pay $700 just to play Mario Kart.

    • +5

To be fair, it's still the best handhold device if you don't want to spend time messing around such as adjusting settings such as with the Steam Deck and equivalent products.

Nintendo does rip you off though - not only in terms of the upfront price tag, but also the nickel and dime tactics employed with their ecosystem.

    • +2

I agree. No games worth it yet.

  • +1

I think this is the better deal too bad no cash back??

  • -6

Black Friday $500 has all the traits.

    • +1

In your dreams they would not go lower than $700 bundle might sold out by then

      • +8

$500 isn't happening but you'll definitely be able to purchase this under $700. I mean it is possible on this very deal albeit with discounted gift cards.

Insufficient supply does not sound like it is going to be a problem either.

        • -2

The supply problems will be gone once the hype dies down.

    • +6

Can we place a 500 AUD bet on this?

So, I'm willing to bet you 500 AUD that no reputable store will sell the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Bundle in new condition for 500 AUD (or less) fully delivered to an Australian metro location during the Black Friday sales this year (2025).

      • Nobody will sell $500 this console during Black Friday $649. 95 with no game at all is your best bet

But with game $688.60 is the closest you can get here potential better if you sell the game.

        • $496 including 30% cashback using TopCashback in Woolworths Everyday Marketplace sold by MyDeal

          • @j0235: The bundle is $601 after cashback. That's still pretty good, the only issue is the cashback takes like 24 weeks to be paid out, and so you have to fork out $860 up front.

    • Black Friday 2027?
