    • the switch OLED literally barely falls under $400, are you high?

    • I don’t think $500 is unreasonable for the Mario kart bundle at Black Friday. Might be flash deal but I wouldnt be surprised to see it.

      • Nintendo does not do heavy discount during the first year of newly released console

        • I don't think things have gone as anticipated for Nintendo I think that they anticipated the scalpers to jump on board and they were expecting their console to be fully sold out like the PlayStation 5 was for two years nine month weight lists in retail stores I think that's what they were anticipating and it hasn't happened. They'll say otherwise and I think in Nintendo has over produced consoles because they were anticipating this.

It's the price point but Nintendo is protected anyways because they don't sell to retailers they sell to distributors it's a multi-tiered distribution level so it makes no difference to Nintendo the people that lose out are the retailers and apparently they make very very little margin on consoles.

We may only see really good bundles but it's gonna move quickly and I think the bundles are going to start happening soon they're not going to get away with just selling a digital copy of Mario kart not in a million years

  • Here's my suggestion for getting the bundle cheaply as possible (sub $650) if you have a bit of patience.

    1. Stock up on about $650 worth next time there's 10% off Ultimate Gift Cards (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/907738). Buy Officeworks compatible ones.

    2. Keep an eye out for the bundle price dropping below Officeworks' price

E.g. currently 'Sydney Retro' have it for $749.95 compared to OW's $766. Request 5% price beat then pay with the discounted gift cards.

    $749.95 * 0.95 = $712.45 (5% price beat)

    $712.45 * 0.9 = $641.20 (10% off gift cards)

That Sydney Retro price is just the first I found on a quick scan, I imagine you could do better if you monitored for a while.

    • Isn't the OW 5% off the difference only?

    • There was once an ozbargain thread that people got the consoles for 580 dollars from The good Guys stacked with Westpac discount or something I'm not entirely sure what it was but I believe some people got consoles for under 600 dollars already

      • This is talking about the bundle with Mario Kart included. You are right, there are definitely ways to get the standalone console for under $600, but trickier to get the bundle for sub-600

    • Tried to price match Sydney Retro price on the JB online chat and they refused to match it because they couldn't verify seller sadly.

  • Can't seem to get the $70 off even with ebay plus. Only SSNOW works.

Oops, turns out my ebay plus expired recently. My bad!

I've tried price matching with OW using Sydney Retro and they refused to :(

    • Technically it meets all their criteria so it should have been matched.

It is very low stock though (only 1 remaining now).

      • Lol I'm getting negged - it's not my fault OW didn't follow their price beat policy…

        • -1

Didn't neg you, but you need to read OW's price beat guarantee criteria and exclusions.

Cashback and coupon offers (i.e. supplier cashback or reduced price available via paper coupon or electronic codeword)

    • As usual they will always give you excuses, never trust that price matching….They will say membership exclusibe and Coupons used etc.

Just go for ebgames eBay stuff Officeworks

In the end you are the customer and you have the rights to refuse them too!

Wish there was an option for click and collect on eBay lol

Paid $10 shipping just for it to be sent from a store not even 10 minutes away from where I live…

    • Same here, and it will take me 2 or 3 days to receive it 😅

  • …can confirm JB hifi told me to go jump (politely) when I tried to price match this offer. Grr, I've got $600 in vouchers at JB to use up :(

    • +1

Then just use them on the Switch if you want it… goodness me. 🤣

      • …can see absolutely no reason why I shouldn't be trying to get them to price match the current lowest cost for this console rather than just paying full price… which website are we both on again?

        • +1

Problem is it's hard to find anywhere selling the bundle for less than $766 including delivery and without involving either cashback or promo code (which are not allowed in most price beat policies). The Nintendo price discipline is strong…

Still the only one I could find is the Sydney Retro link I posted above - there's been no reason given for why it doesn't qualify for price match. However, on closer inspection the website doesn't list an Australian address (even though I can find the ABN and associated address for the business through ABN lookup).

  • Received mine today.

    • what city? and when did you order?

      • Ordered 12:30pm Monday, arrived 11:30am Wed. Sydney, shipped from Hurstville EB.

  • Ended up buying 'Your Pick' gift cards (which can be redeemed for Ebay) through the Everyday Rewards app for 3% extra off. Came down to around $680.
