More than worth it for Assetto Corsa (OG & Competizione), rFactor 2 and Automobilista 2.

Automobilista 2 is my pick. Variety of vehicles and tracks is great and VR performance is unmatched. The physics have come a long way since a shaky release a while back and are now comparable to ACC & iRacing. Criminally underrated IMHO. You definitely want to keep an eye out for deals for the season pass or DLC packs though. There's a lot of extra content.

Assetto Corsa Competizione is also fantastic. It only does GT3 (& GT4) but it does it better than any others. VR performance is pathetic unfortunately. My 2D game of choice.

The original Assetto Corsa is brilliant for the infinite amount of community content. I'd recommend getting Content Manager and CSP.

iRacing is obviously the best for multiplayer, runs well in VR but an absolute money pit. At least with a 3 month trial you can race around an MX5 and get a taste before deciding to go broke buying extra cars & tracks.

Do you think there will be ultimate versions of ACC and or Automobilista 2 in the future. Doesn't really matter if they are a long way off really. I don't really see myself playing these games that much for quite a while even if I got this bundle now.

  I think we will probably see such a pack for ACC by the end of this year. We may get 1 more DLC drop before they switch entirely to ACC3.
  
  For AMS 2 youre looking at another 3 years atleast imho.

Are any of these sims viable with a ds4? Planning on upgrading my PC in the near future, but won’t be looking at getting a wheel any time soon.

  ACC - surprisingly manageable with controller (it has steer assist option) but having a wheel is recommended.
  AC - wheel is highly recommended.
  NASCAR 5 - It's arcade game so it is easy as with controller.
  
  I can't comment on the other games.

    Yeah, I want to give that a go. Bought already! I tried Dirt Rally 2.0 and was a little underwhelmed, didn't feel anywhere near as immersive as I was expecting. I've had more fun with some of the inbuilt Oculus games from their marketplace. Golf+ etc.

Any of these games really playable with a controller or is it only worth buying if I have a wheel?

Used to play a lot of gran turismo with a wheel but stopped after GT5. Might be better to get into Forza instead with xbox gamepass though.
