So, if I save $$ here, I get to upgrade all my other gear to "V4.0 EDR" for HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of $$$$$$$$$$$$$, right?

    That's NO deal. :-/

Jeez dude, you've been the voice of doom & gloom the last couple of days. Look, you may not necessarily be completely wrong, but hey, lighten up! ;)

dude, if you have a BT4.0 device already but don't have a PC/laptop with BT4.0
wouldn't this USB adapter help you upgrade for only $8.29?
what's the NEG here? wouldn't you consider others? or the world is just you & only you?

      don't be a selfish scumbag!

  • Bluetooth 4.0 is great, but, I'm afraid $8.29 will be much more than most ozbargainers will swallow… especially when bluetooth usb adapters are very likely to have faults (dropouts).

  • What other advantages are there besides increased bandwidth/throughput & range/stability? New bt profiles?

edit: nvm, just wikied it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth#Bluetooth_v4.0

Rather just get a $1 from ebay & save $7.3 which can get me another 16gb micro sd for $2 more….

If you buy from TinyDeal, make sure you pay with paypal and if you get a DOA unit lodge an issue immediately with paypal. TD's process requires you to post items back (not too expensive at this size) however your paypal 45 day claim period will most likely expire before TD will get to process your claim. So if you get a DOA, escalate the claim with paypal all the way as TD will refuse to refund a DOA until you return it - even if you provide video evidence. Any ebay seller would simply refund the amount or resend. TD will make you fight for it. That has been my experience anyway. That said… TD do have some cool stuff, so just use your paypal buyer protection.

  • Torben, does the mac address on this device stay static? Too many of these cheap-o usb bluetooth devices seemingly randomise the mac address, which makes them a pain in the arse wrt bluetooth usage.
