Any Cheaper Telstra Network Deal

Hi, currently I am with Vodafone and it has very bad reception in my area and where I work or travel, I am really frustrated with vodafone. I am paying around 35$/ per month post paid with 100gb data and 200 international minutes .

I know it is very expensive and hard to find it that cheap from Telstra network, I am looking for 50$ to 60$ post paid plan within the Telstra Network atleast the internet and calls will be available while I am working or at home.

Also want to ask, if the plans from boost or any other that uses telstra network would work same as like being with telstra itself. Please suggest.

$69 per month for 12 months plus a $300 JB gift card, gives you an effective cost of $44 per month for 100gb of data.

They have better offers every now and then. Last one I signed up to was $99 a month for 12 months, then I managed to discount that online by upgrading to the $115 plan through Telstra and applying a $50 discount they had per month for 12 months. So that ended up costing me $780 over 12 months, and they threw me an $800 gift card hahah.

    • They have closed that loop hole now so when you migrate from ANY contract plan you have to pay the ETCs before moving

      • Have you checked your cancellation cost though? I was surprised at mine showing $0 despite not ending until November…

Boost is the only reseller with access to the full 4GX Telstra Network, all other resellers only have access to the Telstra Wholesale Network, only Telstra itself has access to the 5G Network

Otherwise there are often JB deals that basically work out to half-price after the bonus gift card

Boost now has access to Telstra 5G network.

Does Boost Mobile use Telstra 5G?
Boost has access to the full Telstra 3G & 4G network. 5G is currently not available to Boost customers.

        • Definitely no 5G on Boost at the moment, it'll probably be made available on select plans towards the end of the year, but the Telstra 5G network has been smashed with the amount of cheap 5G phones released, so they'll need to add way more capacity before they make it available to everyone

      • Doesn't seem to be consistent. Perhaps only when they want to shift some load off the 4G network.

      • Not yet. People got access intermittently as testing was being done.

        • Ok coz I saw a thread here on OzBargain so I thought it was permanent access to 5G.
          I use Boost but don't have a 5G phone.

  • FYI - I don't believe the above JB Hi-Fi Telstra Plan includes international calls & text.

If you don't use all of the 100gb per month:

Woolworths Mobile (uses the Telstra Wholesale network)
    - $45 p/m
    - 65GB Data (500GB Data Bank)
    - Unlimited standard international calls & text to 22 selected destinations
    - 10% off 1 grocery shop per month (when paired with an Everyday Rewards card)

Alternatively, do you happen to know if you have good Optus coverage in your area? If so, you could consider one of the following plans:
    1. Medium Choice Plus Plan
    - $55 p/m
    - 80GB Data with Endless Data (shaped to 1.5Mbps when limit reached)
    - Unlimited standard international talk & text to 35 selected destinations
    2. Optus Plus 12 Months Promo Plan
    - $65 p/m (reverts to $115 after 12 months)
    - 500GB Data with Endless Data (shaped to 1.5Mbps when limit reached)
    - Unlimited standard international talk & text to 35 selected destinations
