Won’t poo poo the deal from raw value but I spent 30 days to churn away from telstra to optus and then go back for another $500 gc. Had terrible speeds and reception in comparison to Telstra.

I'm only staying with Optus for EPL live matches. Reception is pretty bad though.

      • Reception is rotten Sydney Northern Beaches and Canberra.
        That's only my experience though.

Be aware that the data can't be pooled with data sims plans, only the new "Choice Plus" phone sim plans.

If this is true then this is a dealbreaker and will cause me to leave Optus for all my plans.

They can be pooled with the data sim choice plans.
I am doing this as we speak.

      • Lucky you, I've been with them for more than 10 years and asked to have my data sim accounts merged with my phone account 3 times and each time they couldn't do it.

        Leaving for Telstra now.

        • They cant merge old plans. Best to just reconnect, but understand if you're paying more than $7.50 pm if you don't want to do it.

I'm not a gamer, but i stream Netflix and youtube a lot and last month my broad band usage was up to 700gb, so if you are thinking of replacing ur home broadband plz check ur usage before stepping in.
Note: xmas break coming so more streaming for me and kids :)

  • This be a good option to churn for the Telstra GC deal?

    • Optus plans are getting worse compare to before and their network ain't getting that much better. But if you're looking to churn back to Telstra GC deals then this is really good value for money (if you live in a good reception area that is)

    • no. Amaysim or Kogan will suffice. Both are cheaper per month.

  • Can you hotspot the data?

    • I do using my phone all the time. Haven't done it in a dedicated modem though.

You know when someone is on Optus in our estate. They're having to stand out the front to get 1 bar reception on this crappy network 🤣

  • Nice, seem just available "Offer available from 13/12/21 until withdrawn,…"

  • Hi there all, just asking as I am moving to the rural in South Australia, I would like to ask how is their network connection stability compare to Telstra and Vodafone?

  • Ended up going with this plan. The first few days were great. Now all of a sudden for the past 3 or 4 days I've been struggling to maintain a decent connection. I live in Gold Coast and get full bars of connection, yet I'm constantly getting data drop outs every 10 minutes and the speedtest shows that it's lucky to get 15Mbps. Not sure what's going on and I have no issues with Amaysim, Telstra and Vodafone at all. Anyone else experiencing issues with speeds lately with Optus?
